I need a new distributor!

Does anyone know of where I can get a reasonably priced HEI vaccum-advance distributor? I took the computer controls off of my car and the old one won't work anymore. I work at a Chevy dealer, and even with my discount, they want about $230 for one! I've already got a cap, rotor, and MSD coil as well. Thanks!

Check www.summitracing.com or www.jegs.com . You can get an Accel one for about $190 I believe.
You did get a non cc carburetor right?

I tried one junkyard already, and they wanted $50 for a broken one! I couldn't find one in the 'yard I usually go to, but there is one junkyard left to try. I think they'll want a lot for one, though. And yes, its a non-cc Edelbrock performer carb. This stuff's going on the LG4 305 that's in the car right now, but I'm gonna build a 383 for the car when I get the money and time to do so.

Hello-
When i replaced mine for the same reason i went to a local parts chain hgere in the south called discount auto and got my Accell blueprint distributor (HEI and Vaccume advance) i dont remember the exact price but i know it was less then $230. Call your parts houses and get some prices on one.
Hope this helps-
