the more experianced ppl correct me if im wrong , but you have run the engine and only AFTER that connect terminals A and B on the ALDL , if the check eningine light flashes more rapidly then once a second its in open loop mode , and after u drive it a few minutes it should enter a closed loop mode where the light will only flash about twice in three seconds, if its on more then its off its running rich , if its off more then its on , its running lean.
now thats what i know, so if anyone has anything to add please do

Ok, I did the above mentioned check and got NOTHING !!!

after starting the engine I jumpered A & B on the ALDL block and got no responce at all from the "check engine light", nor did I notice any change in the way the car ran (I drove it for about 5 min. while jumpered and got nothing.

Is this normal or is there a problem with the computer ????

K, ill try and help u out , try checking if your check engine light is working , u can do that as follows : . turn your ingition key to ON, dont run the engine , just put it into the on position, then jump the A & B terminals on the ALDL block , if the check engine light flashes , record teh codes, caution DO NOT START THE ENGINE AFTER U JUMPED A & B . TAKE THE WIRE OUT BEFORE RUNNING THE ENGINE . k, if u dont get any codes , u might want to check if teh check engine light bulb is even there, and if it is there , if its not burned out . um..... thats all i can think of , sorry i cant be of more help .
