How much hp did an 89 IROC have w/ a 305??? 350???? thanks in advance.

 

5.7L TPI.....something around 245HP

 

mine came with 230hp, its a single cat car on a 350 if it has dual cats the 245hp. all this info is on the site already though.

I have the HO 305 w/TPI and its supposedly rated at 195Hp. I took it on the dyno last year and got close to 180 Hp at the rear wheels. Mine is stock with a single CAT.

The drivetrain list in the link I posted above shows a 195hp LB9, in 1989 for instance. Is this information wrong or do you mean it wasn't an 'HO' engine?

 

i just meant the 195 hp version wasn't the high output version for that year. that's not taking anything away from the engine, but it wasn't the high output.

I think you are confusing people...there was a 305 rated at right around 195hp if I'm not mistaken. I have one from an 84 z28 with a carb...rated at 195 I believe.

My 89 "HO" LB9 is 225w/ N10 dual cats...My 89 350 is 225 w/o dual cats...but has more torque than 305...at stock ratings of course. This is for firebirds. The camaros you can add about 5 hp minimum to that. I haven't looked them up of course for accuracy.

 

the carburated 305 h.o. was 190 hp. the tuned port injected h.o. version had alot in common with the carburated h.o.. to get the 305 t.p.i. you needed the manual transmission and G92 option.
