rattle at hard trottle

rattle at hard trottle

I have a stock 88 iroc 350, auto trans. when i get on the gas i have a rattle noise that seems to be getting louder. i heard it could be my cat but im not sure any ideas? it almost feels like i have a lose in power too.

Could be the cats, could be a muffler, could even be interference with the driveline. How many miles on the car?

i had this same problem and fixed it. it was a spark plug wire rubbing up against my exhaust manifold (#8 plug) and when id get on it the little metal flap by the number 8 plug would rattle like mad, and once i rerouted my wire the sound went away.

Are you referring to the heat flange. I have the same problem.
