Air pump belt removal effects
Air pump belt removal effects
Guys,
What are the adverse affects of removing the belt to the air pump and driving it like that? I've been doing it for about 30 miles and haven't tripped any codes or SES lights. Will it have any long-term affects on the emissions or the various engine systems (ie EGR)?
Thanks,

It won't affect the engine, how it runs, etc in any way. The only thing that this causes is excess NOx gas in the exhaust which might prevent you from passing emissions if you live in an area where they stick a sniffer up your pipe (no pun intended)
