Im ready for a cam swap for my wee-05. How bad would the XE262 be in my LG4? I have the exhaust end of it covered...edelbrock headers, 3" cat, 3" SLP exhaust. "G" hanger, "DR" rods, and 3.73's. Would the cam be overkill? Would it kill my gas mileage? I have a chance to get my brand new XE262 back for $60. It hasnt been used yet. But I dont want to put it in if itll be too big. My goal is to reach 14.50's or close. So far on the stock motor, I ran a 15.11 not really hooking up. This is my last cam question as Im sure you guys are getting sick of answering them. THX again

Comp Cams recommends the XE256 for the street, especially for an automatic transmission car. Vacuum for your brakes, etc., is insufficient with the 262. If you have a stick you might be able to find a happy medium, though a vacuum booster may be necessary.
HP-wise, there is not much difference between the 256 and 262. DD2000 shows only 5 or 6 hp and a similar amount of torque. But Comp Cams insists the 256 will be less problematic as a daily driver.
Hope that helps.

Thats good to know. I guess I should just get it over with and go with the XE256. Thats what everyone tells me to do and I hear it will pass emissions. I wasnt aware there was such a little difference in HP output between the two. But thanks for the info.
