what exactly is a rotator eliminator?

I can get some of these for my 454......
do I need them?
obviously they eliminate rotation....but for what purpose?

They are a shim that takes up the place of the stock exhaust valve rotator, while retaining stock valve springs. The rotators are basically useless and just add extra weight at a point you need to lighten, which is why people want to eliminate them.

Don't waste your money. Just get a good set of aftermarket valve springs and the retainers that go with whtever springs you buy, The stock springs in a BBC are absolutely horrible, it is beyond stupid to spoend money to buy parts to retain compatibility with them.
