Timing Question

I seem to be getting a little pre-ignition knock right when I snap the throttle off idle. The timing is 12 deg. BTDC.Maybe I'm too far advanced?It's an L98 with a 96 LT1 cam

What octane gas are you running?

I have my timing at 13 deg, but I always run atleast 93 octane. With no audible knock. I would run as much base timing as possible without knock.
