have a timing question
does BAD timing kill top end HP or torque
cuz i timed my car by just ear and stuff and then i had some guy set it back to stock settings and now it seems WAAAAYYYY slower in the mid to upper RPM's and it starts to bog right b4 shifts
this is the timing......right?

Matt,
I always use a light, at least for reference. That doesn't mean that you have to srtictly adhere to the factory suggested setting, but it's nice to know where it is set at. Mine seems to like it best at a little over 10° BTC, but the factory spec is 6°. I played with it for week under various conditions to get that point figured out. Accelleration, economy, and any scan data you can get will help you determine what is best for your setup.

well the reason why i didnt set it back to stock specs is becuz we could never find the timing cover so we could set the timing......until one day when i had to change my water pump.....i was taking off pullies and stuff and i found it hidden under a pulley and so then when i took it into the shop i just asked them to do it while they were aligning my car..........but thanks.....i think they relocated it and now i will b able to use a light
