zroc,
Here are a couple of new videos from the way it sounds now. It is hard to get any quality sound from the digital camera - but the exhaust one isn't too bad.

Exhaust clip
Engine clip

Regarding the d@mn compression tester - seems like FedEx all by themselves have decided that even though I leave a signed note on the door asking them to leave the delivery there, they wont. Instead they've taking it to the office of the apartment complex manager - and they haven't told me, nor have they been at work today. SO, basically it is sitting 1 minute from my house (for *** knows how long), but I can't get the d@mn thing.....arrgghhhh!!!

Ken,

Sounds like just more frustration in the saga. I'm almost ready, so watch your email. I finally got a spare PC set up so I can connect to the world again.

I downloaded the videos, but the sound from each one doesn't seem really terrible. It's tough to tell from those just what is going on.

man... access to an ignition analyzer would make this so much easier... there maybe a miss on one or two cylinders... hard to tell but I'm thinking so... lets see what happens w/ the compression test...

Vader,
Yup - you got that right. The saga just continues. I just found out this morning where the water goes in the 87 Linc. Town Car that we're borrowing from my in-laws at the moment. It was acting funny when I picked it up, I found that it had no water in it. After driving a couple of days to find that the water is gone again and NO puddle under the car - I got that irky feeling and checked the oil cap.
Sure enough - water in the oil! So, they're looking at a blown headgasket at least.... Man Im glad that ain't my responsibility - but it still sux as now my wife and I basically have to walk everywhere..!

Anyways, I'll be looking for your email

zroc,
Yeah, it doesn't run on all cylinders - that is for sure. But I don't know if it is 3 out or not.

Still haven't been able to get the stuff out from the manager's office I swear I'll kick that FedEx dude swiftly in the nuts next time I see him!!

Ken,

Crushed walnuts are great on brownies. If you didn't get the tester yet, let me know.

Nope, no tester yet - so no test result either. I finally got my package from FedEx that was at the office, but it turned out to be something else. So, basically I have no idea where the tester has gone at this point..

Oh, and Vader - I've been on the phone all day today and yesterday trying to get my hands on a truck. I never thought it was possible to be in a country where there are two trucks in every driveway, and NOT be able to find one for rent...?
I'll find out tomorrow if u-haul can still fix me up with the 15' & trailer by friday. I'll email you tomorrow once I know for sure!!

ZROC,

Everyone has too much time and interest involved in this, so I'll post updates. We'll probably start from the top with the basic mechanical checks, ignition, fuel, etc. I just goaat find my degree wheel...
