power steering brackets
power steering brackets
hey still puttin my engine back into my 84 z,am i going to need new brackets since i am removing ac?also where can i get these,so as they wont cost me a arm and a leg?i looked in jegs, but they wanted 100 dollars for them, thanks for your help.
Power steering brackets aree very hard to find. At least around here. I got lucky and found someone parting out a V8 camaro and I was first one to it. I went to junk yards and got 3 of them an they didn't fit and came in many pieces and no one seems to have after market ones, except for $100 from March. Good luck.

You should be able to use your brackets without the a/c. You may have to rig it up a bit, but not bad. If you don't have a problem with flexing brackets or keepign belt tension when the engine is in the car, I'd just remove what you don't need and leave it like that. That's what I did, and I haven't had any problems.

I did the same as mentioned above..I have the " double hump" heads without accessory holes for mounting. I just used the brackets off a donor car....Clue....Fabricate

I personaly went, and got the rear braket (assuming this is the one you need) that attaches to the head, exhaust, PS. over at my local dealership. '85 Berl' is right IF you have headers like me.
Since I have headers I just can't get it to tension very well. (NOT GOOD AT HIGH RPM). So I've already had experience with March Performance Alternator bracket(The new race version for 68 bucks) the quality is very good. I hope in the future they offer the race version of the PS brackets so I can get one. The only defference is the powder coating.
Basicly you just need the part numbers for a 84 less AC. I even got a one groove PS pulley at the dealer.
