MSD blaster 2 coil crack
I have an MSD blaster 2 coil which has a little crack in it right underneath the top lip. There is some sort of oil coming out of the crack. It is fairly small. Is it safe to install on my car or do i have to get a new one? What is that oil anyways? thanks.

I know that it shouldn't be cracked. The coil is used and it came from my previous 88 camaro which i had an accident in and that's how the crack developed. I guess i'll just try installing it and if it don't work then i'll get a new one.
Oh Sorry , I thought ya bought it new and just noticed it was cracked heh . Id change it before it takes a crap on you and leaves you stranded on the side of the road somewhere ..

Definately get a new coil. A crack like that will likely cause it to drop spark power or drop spark completely. I suppose throwing it on there to see if it will work won't hurt anything since it is free and all, but I have my doubts and I would not trust it on my car.... I would guess that the oil that you are seeing is there for the internal components to be bathed in to prevent corrosion.
