ok looked at a 84 or 85 SE Firebird tonight that the 2,8L in it is knocking, says the guy and his buddy, I know them both kinda well sorta. his buddy says cam or a lifter are bad, and he says engine is knocking deeper and lower than that, the buddy of his is mechanically inclined alot more thna the guy who has the car, so I dunno... i havent heard it run, valve cover is off and so,..

was there a common valvetrain problem with the 2,.8L engines ? i know there were big carb problems on them, and I have had horrible past experiences with the 2.8L engines, so,,,
I wuld put in a V* personally, but its a 5 speed car, so hmm not fun to do...
