Would U buy new heads or the miniram for a iron headed 383 motor?
Hi there,
I have a 383sb motor that with my present mods & stock TPI induction with 19-lbs injectors Im running 13.6 at 98 mph with a 2.50 60ft. The car hits a brick wall at 4500rpm. So i figured if i were to get at least a MR & 24lbs injectors, I would get into the 12s just from the extra rpm. So my question is Heads 195 Air flow research or Mini ram?

I've turned a 13.54 @ 103mph w/ a 2.0 60'. A 13.6 @ 98mph seems to baffle me? Do you spin the first 60'? If you could knock down that 60' to a 2.0 or less you'll be A LOT closer to 12's. The MR is very expensive. I can't see spending $900 on piece of aluminum that lets air in the engine. On top of that you need to buy a TB and fuel rails. I got a LT1 monifold for 100 and the rails for 90. It will cost 220 to get it modified to fit my car. +60 for a remote t-stat. 80 for custome lines from the rails to the fuel lines.
total = $550 (useing old TB)
MR
900 manifold
350 fuel line (unless u can make your own)
total = $1250
