Canister Questions
The little black canaster in the front right is not hooked up. I forget what it is called, but it is supposed to get rid of gas fumes, correct? I have not had a problem with gas fumes; the only time that I smell any gas is when I am running the car hard, but that could be from the carb not running right. (problem with the secondaries not working). SHould I be worried about the canister not being connected? It looks like the line from the gas tank is still intact, but the line to the carb is gone, and the fitting on the canister is broken.

No don't be worried about it, it is just for emissions. It releases the pressure from the gas tank into that charcoal canister instead of the atmosphere. When you are using the car gas vapours are drawn from the canister into the carb or manifold. I removed mine a year ago, along with the rest of my emissions crap! But i don't run any computer controlled equipment.
