my buddy had a 95 concorde with 3.5 v6. he had a larger throttle body, mass airflow sensor and k&n filters (and a couple other things i don't remember). This thing was FAST for a big car. he used to race mustang gts and actually be close. I'm not kidding, the thing was impressive. Only porblem with the car was that it ate transmissions for lunch, then he totalled it and bought an 84 Z28 just like mine, smart move. I wouldn't worry too much about a stocker though, they should only do about 8 seconds to 60 and low 16s in the quarter.

just like everything.....

Isn't that the stats for 90 percent of cars now days? FWD, 4 or 6 cylinders, 100-200 hp, less torque, 7-9 seconds to 60, 15-16 quarter?
Boring. How about something RWD? With a v8? Or at least a inline 6? I know there are still quite a few, but not enough.

well.......

He either had TBI or a lackluster Quad, right? Correct me if I am wrong. But I've used TBI and an old Q-Jet. And it doesn't give your car that initial lunge that you want. I could do well, considering, but good fuel injection was and is a constant thorn in my side.
