i had my first s/n here,91rscruiser,banned because i sided with lottaballscamaro and said some stupid **** when i was a newbie.so what did i do?well i went to the register button,filled out the form,and bam i was 91rsrider.now thats not working for some reason and i have to wait for Dirk to get back to me about it so i made this name up so i can still post till i get 91rsrider back online.so are you sure you ban the IP's?or maybe mine just changes.i think i heard something about the IP addy always changing when you have Roadrunner,which i what i have.hmm i dunno

here is my take on this .

even if monkie never saw a real cobra in his lifetime , let alone own one . thats not the issue . people bs online everyday . it happens . Yes i have watched threads that he has jumped into flow down the toliet . however this is due to his previous reputation . thus everyone tears him down . im not by any means saying this is one sided Monkie has said his fair share of stupid things as well .

i havent banned him due to the fact that......well just because everyone wants him gone isnt justifiable grounds . he has not made any personal threats , racial slurs etc etc . BUT if i have to lock one more post due to childish remarks from either side of the fence im going to have to do something .

Monkie , chill out first of all . im getting sick of coming here and seeing 75 replies in a post only to open in it and see you vs the board . i will not have it . you can always approach your replies differently . thats the problem with you . you always have a slight hint of attitude when defending your car or any other stang . remember , these people will give you respect if you are willing to show it as well . but to be quite frank , you come off as a 17 year old kid that thinks his 13 second car cant be touched . not a flame just how i see it .

so i will give this matter a little bit of time and we will see what happens . i dont think monkie cares if he gets banned or not . but if i have to keep doing this im going to . im not a damn babysitter

 

Although I have no personal grudge against Monkie, I know that I have suggested to him in the past to only post things that he can readily back up. Obviously with no results. I think that someone that persistantly posts either BS or inflammatory remarks (not neccessarily just Monkie) needs to be:
1) warned (attepted many times),
2) repremanded (which I think has been done in the past),
3) if such behavior persistes, ban him.
3 strikes and you're out.

Obviously its the moderator's call in the end, but I'm glad that when I first started to read the message boards he wasn't in the fourums I was in.

 

I think he should be banned for the simple reason he comes in here LOOKING to pick a fight/start a flame war. He thinks he knows it all. He doen't. No one does.

He makes all these comments, and when he gets proven wrong, he begins the flaming. I beleive I saw a thread where a person on the Mustang site he now hangs out at, proved he did not even HAVE A COBRA. So now.. Hmm... If the Mustang guys call him out telling him its not a cobra, but a GT with Cobra badges, what right does he have to come here and try to post absolute BS on everything.

There is a Saleen in the next town over. You know how I know its a Saleen, besides the fancy body kit?, I looked under the hood and saw the S/C'ed 5.0 If Monkie could post anything ANYTHING WORTH looking at that is not a waste of time, I say Yes, He would be welcome, BUT he doesn't. At least not enough to counteract all the Negitive situations he creates.

But thats just my oppinion.

I belive you that you own your Cobra and really don't care if it's you or daddy that's paying for it. The problem as I see it is I think you've got a lot growing up to do and once you do that you'll be fine.

 

Well What I keep seeing from Monkie's post is a lot of
contradiction... one time it's my car does 11 seconds in the 1/4, and then another post is something different.. and the times are preposterous...He post that a Cobra will blow away Ls1's when the LS1 was created to show up the Cobras and hopefully increase camaro and Firebird sales because they are 40% down!
an LS1 will destroy any cobra.. this is proven at the track all the damn time.

also.. about the exhaust breaking the glass, thats
there are harleys that are louder than any frickin muscle car
even with open headers, and they dont break glass, to post
something like that is just asking for slamming.

I think its fine if Mustang owners want to check out the site, but I dont think it's right to post messages slamming our cars and blasting us with comments about how much faster a gay cobra is! I respect that Mustangs are an American Musclecar, but I think they ae the ugliest car.. and ever since the body style changed to the boxy crap of the 80's allthe way to the sedan looking junk of now, I have never felt they look at all like a sports car... they are no better than those old vegas that people fix up toi make fast at the track.. .. yah the vegas can be fast.... but they are still ugly as sin!
as far as banning him? I just say tell him to stop posting all this crap about how his Mustang is better than any of our cars on this site which is dedicated TO OUR CARS!!

 

I have NO problem with people voicing their opinions about other makes/models of cars, IF IT RELATES TO THE ORIGINAL POST . He has been warned time and time again about staying on topic...and still the posts keep comming.

Every topic he posts on seems to get locked. Of coarse its not all his fault, but he is picking fights with other members. If we had an off topic discussion board (I understand why we do not) I would find no problem with his posts. Its just that this site is supposed to provide technical information about thirdgen fbodies.

I have to admit that after the first time he was warned the first time, he was posting real information. But that just proves to me that he knows what he should be doing, and doesnt care.

Maybe this post will keep things under control and there will be no need for banning. I say the next time things go sour on even one post, get rid of him. Im a forgiving guy.

I have seen what Monkie can do to a post. I have had a post locked that everyone started flaming in and yes Monkie was a key element in starting that flame, notice I said a key element. There are others on here that can't seem to post without breaking out and riding people's azzes. I could see banning him, but I look at it this way. He does own a Mustang of some sort, and when I want to post something asking about a stang, he would of course have some first hand knowledge. If he could share his experience TRUTHFULLY and keep the smart comments down then alot could be accomplished. Same goes for the others that post in response to Monkie, keep the smart azz comments to yourself and TALK the situations out. Granted nobody here knows everything, but if we do have a guy with some stang knowledge that visits the board, then I say that we keep him BUT IF ANYONE GETS OUT OF LINE PUNISH THEM. It is a moderators job to decide that, but that is just my opinion

 

I say ban him! He really gets on most peoples nerves here! It's fine if he came on and gave answers that were not total , but all it is is BS. I wouldn't mind it if he didn't talk about how he owns the best car, shoots down everyone on here, and then posts BS about vreaking hatches. And by the way in the ORIGINAL post, it was a Camaros hatch you broke NOT an Integra!! I feel bad for the guys who ask qeustions about Mustangs and then don't get real answers but a stupid remark, and then see it turn into a fight and get locked!

I own a Mustang and I have no problems here with anyone, until Monkie posted stupid remarks! You would think that the Mustang guys would get along, but thats not the case, I mean look, Nic doesn't like him and feels he is immature, and I feel the same way! He was called out before never to back anything up, and that is what this site should be getting rid of! If someone is known to post BS all the time, why let him continue to post. He may give people wrong information, and that could **** someone off! Seriousely he is giving Mustang owners a bad name and shouldn't be allowed to post on here if the decision in the end is to ban him!

He's a 17 year old kid that needs to do a little growing up, that's all. I really don't think this sort of thread is going to do anything other than bring out the worst in him and all the other agitators here.

everyone here needs to make a concerted effort to chill out and quit taking things so personally. If you don't agree with what someone says, don't get your panties in a wad over it, ignore it. It's not hurting you. There's absolutely nothing wrong with a healthy debate, but let's go at it like adults. Stop the namecalling, stop the bickering, stop the fighting...it takes two..............to be continued.

I know the mods are figuring it out as we speak, but I'm still going to toss my .02 into the pot (I'm amazed we got this many posts this fast). Monkie, I have nothing against you or anyone else on this board, and when you make posts that are informative, such as answering my questions regarding the new Cobras, I'm sure most everyone will agree that you are welcome to post. The problem comes when the BS rolls in. I don't buy the breaking the glass, or the 11-sec. Cobra, or some of the other things I've read. I'm honestly not trying to flame, because its possible you've done these things, and if you were to have some sort of proof I would be the first to apologize and believe you, I think the problem comes when the statements you make go unanswered by proof. You have a very valid point that there is no reason to prove what you've done to an internet discussion board, and I agree, but if you don't want to prove something it would be wiser to not to post about it. If your Cobra runs 11-sec. and the mods seem odd for that time, of course people will want proof, if you don't have a slip, just be happy in the knowledge that you ran that time and leave it at that, don't fight over it, because you have no slip to back it up. Again, I'm not trying to flame, but it might be better to keep the posts more tech/info related and not so much ones that will cause fights, ok man? Ok, I'll get off my soapbox now.

1. The turbo Idea. You had absolurtely no chance of shooting down my Turbo idea. What EVER GAVE YOU ANY HINT THAT YOU(OF ALL PEOPLE) WOULD?.. Monkie your about equal with roaches on my ladder of oppinion(hell I give them respect for their simple fight for survival. If it matters to you or not I could care less, I know you do not care what other people think about you. It is blattenly clear by your posts.
And secondly, You by no means know more about turbos then me. I have come up with every conceivable mod that has to be done to support a turbo install. I did my homework. And you with your "twin turbo" Stang... Yeah ok that'll happen. I on the other hand am working on turning that turbo witht he wasted exhaust section into a Centrifugal Supercharger. And you know what? I already have most the parts needed.

2. I did not say your a GT with a Cobra dress on its back. Someone ON YOUR STANG BOARD DID. You think a GT will sell for as much as a Cobra?. I have seen dealers dress up Stangs in false dresses and sell them falsely to idiots like yourself.

3. My headers are IN production. I have 3 sets made now.

Monkie you (As I said before) are nothing to me. I honestly wish they WOULD ban you, for the simple fact it would be 1 less person full of BS on the board that contributes NOTHING. Oh and BTW I am thinking of breaking into the 13's with this V6... especially after a rebuild this summer. So you think your GT, er I mean "Cobra" can take it?...

Umm, not to get off topic, but since the decision is out of all of our hands anyway, Camaro Hunter, are you making your own headers? That would have to be one hell of a garage set-up . If thats what you mean, it sounds like a kick-*** project, what're you working on?

 

Yes I have around 1500 invested now and I have a pretty simple set up. Currently I am making them for the 60* engines. IE 2.8/3.1/3.4(that have been swapped in)

The biggest problem I have run accross is the bending raduis I am limited too by my bender. I am hoping once I get these rolling, I can come up with the $$$ to get a really nice bender that can bend tubing in a 2" radius. Then I can MAKE ANYTHING MU HAHAHHAHAH LOL..

But yes after 7-8 months of working I am FINNALY getting somewhere.

I will love to get this 2K bender I am looking at.. With that I can make headers that you could hang the turbo right beside the motor!... LOL... And I have a 305 TBI that I am converting to TPI that would really LOVE to get turbo's down the line!!.... LOL

 

man, talk about headers designed to fit your car . That sounds sweet dude, I know headers are usually a PITA to get to fit right with everything else under the hood. Good luck with it man

Dakota I apologize for what others have twisted me into. My friend told me I cracked his hatch in his Integra. Soon after I told people on here that my friend's car turned into a Camaro some how. And I never claimed my car can pull 11's. I simply said and proved with my 1/8th times that I am a high 12 sec car on DRs.

 

You can't actually BAN someone...you can ban a ip or even a ip domain but thats easily bypassed by spoofing your ip.I used to do it all the time years ago when getting kicked out of chatrooms laughing at the ford boys lol...................I say ban Him...

I paid somewhere around $18k for it. I don't need to post my PERSONAL information on the internet and if you want to BS me on that then go ahead, wont be suprised. And like I said, my dad is the "driver" of the Cobra and I am the "driver" of the 92 Camaro even though all it does it sit there. And I have to pay the insurance for the Camaro and half of the insurance for the Cobra. It comes to about $450 a month.

This is a quote from Monkie, so basically you drive a V6 Camaro and brag about your dads Cobra! And where do you work to make over $500 dollars a month kid, because you would need a pretty darn good job!

He says he owns it, he says he owns half of it, and he doesn't drive it, and he says that he races Z06s in it! This si why I want him banned, how do you believe someone who can't even figure out what he drives! Too much BS to EVER believe him on ANYTHING, if you want Mustang info, ask us other Mustang guys, or look it up, don't rely on Monkie!

Listen man, I was the one that started that Raptor post. Now isn't this board THEORETICAL? I thought it would give a nice break from the norm and shed some light into a sport which is becoming more popular. I called both of the dragstrips we have here locally and they both say that they have a 4 wheeler class. Now as for wanting to race them, why not? Have you seen those jr. dragsters with the kids driving them? Now if they can take a lawnmower motor, put it on a mini rail, and go a whopping 50 mph on alchohol, what is there that says that 4wheelers can't drag? If it can be modded, taken to a strip, and somebody wants to race thats fine. Like I said, I posted that to shed some light on the sport, and to say that a camaro got beat by the 4wheeler I was driving! I also mentioned that they could beat my IROC, and I even went as far as to ask about one of them possibly racing a Z06, a 2000+ Stang, or a modded thirdgen, and winning!!! I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS COOL AND WANTED TO POST ABOUT IT. If you want the THEORETICAL racing posts stopped, then fine change the name of the board to STREET RACING AND WHICH "CAR" OR "AUTOMOBILE" WOULD WIN Like the board title says THEORETICAL And on the theoretical side, wasn't everyone suprised when that airplane beat that dirtbike at the beginning of IRON EAGLE remember that movie? I wonder how my IROC would fare against a Cessna?
