domestic or foreign poll

In my view, if the manufacturing company is from a foreign country ,such as toyota is from Japan, the cars produced and sold with the name Toyota are foreign or import cars, regardless of where they are assembled. A domestic car is one such as Chevrolet, even if it was assembled in Canada. Just because Honda puts the factory in the US to save money or improve sales doesn't mean that the Honda company in Japan isn't still the one making the money.

Yeah, I can see why some people would consider them domestic cars. These people are called RICERS. They feel that if thay don't have to pay for shipping and handling it's not worthy of ricing.

If the Company is Japanese, the car is Japanese, even if it is made in Detroit. Same goes with American and German, and Italian, and every other company!

I am always seeing these guys with Mitsubishi's saying they are domestic, because they are built in Illinois, is why I brought it up. Now I guess chrysler products are also foreign since they are really owned by Daimler Benz.

It's still an import. Air-cooled Volkswagen beetles are only made in Brazil now, but they're not considered Brazilian cars, right?

I will pay you a million dollars, if you can find new car with nothing but American made parts on it.

Although I like buying American just like any other patriotic guy, or muscle car man, you're not going to find any new car with all American parts. Whether it be radio, tires or whatever.

It matters what the company is, not where it is built.

I don't know why people say foreign cars are crap. Not all foreign cars are crap IMO. My grandmother's 00' honda Accord is a great reliable daily driver. Would I try passing it off as a fast car? hell no. But it does what it was intended to do and does it well. There are plenty of american cars also that make great daily drivers. Just had to add that one in or else the flames would be coming.

Same thing with my moms 2002 Impreza, it's not a race car, but it does it's job and is good in the snow! I just hate the fact that it gets more looks than the Mustang when I drive it to school!

Mark A Shields this is what the poll is saying IMO. We don't care if a car has all american parts, in fact if a Chevrolet has all the parts from Japan and is made in Japan it is still an american car because it is a Chevrolet. And if a Toyota is built in the USA with all US parts it is still a Toyota, therefore still a Japanese car. If the Walton family bought Toyota, then moved Toyota headquarters to Arkansas, then a Toyota would be a domestic automobile. What has this got to do with street racing? Just so people will know that saying they beat an import or a domestic doesn't really matter . An 80's LeMans is a Korean car with Pontiac emblems but if Pontiac was dumb enough to put there name on it it is thiers. They have to live with the reputation. If they made enough money they probably don't mind. So next time someone races thier built in the US mitsubishi and someone says something about it being foreign crap don't say it isn't foreign, because it is. I am not saying foreign cars are crap or that 4-bangers are crap because they are not. Makes sense to me to buy a US car if you work in the US though.
