finally got a race w/ this guy who has been talk'n **** about my car. we raced last night and i tore him up. he had an old school challenger, it's a 318 motor, w/ headers and 3" full exhaust, 3.55 posi, that's his mods from what i have heard from his friend. i seen him at a light and switched lanes quick so i could finally show this kid what's up. we raced till bout 65mph and i was 1-1/2 car lengths ahead. now if it were a hemi, this race might not have turned out so well, lol

Those 318s are dogs. It's the Dodge equivalent of the 307. I used to own a 318 Gran Fury. Not the worst car I ever drove, but it was ridiculous to work on. Every single accessory bolted to the water pump. Guess what was the first thing to break.

what do those challengers weigh? i have a friend that is restoring one with a 318 that he is having bored out to like 340 i think? his dad is gonna let him build it up a little but not a ton. i dont know to much about these cars so i thought i might ask. this kid talks trash about chevys and 350s all the time. i was talking with him a while back and he was trying to tell me that id be beter off to build a 305 up instead of a 350. he swears up and down that ALL stock 350s are dogs. hmmmm i cant wait to see him race a ls1 or lt1 when he gets it done. he thinks the only way to make a 350 have power is to have a huge blower, duel holleys, a cam with like .65 lift, and nitrous. i think its hillarious. o well, he ll soon learn the hard way.
