Depends on if the newer GT or Cobra is modded. I don't think you could take a newer Cobra maybe hang with or beat a newer GT but the Cobras are very quick. A 2003 Cobra you would never even see the headlights and will have a hard time reading his rear license plate as he pulls away
I would say that the Mustang would win because the only one you would beat would be the stock GT, and seriousely hoe many stock Mustangs are there. The Cobra and modded GT would probably beat you unless he can't drive!

Its hard to say. Do you know what kind of times you are running? Like the other people said it depends on if they are modded or not. Stock I think you could take the GT but the Cobra I'm not sure.

Well, I've got nearly the exact same setup as you on my old 86 IROC, and let be the first to say I've killed a half dozen or so mildly modded (all had exhaust mods, probably not much else) 96-98 5spd GTs. Pull very easily on those. Changing out the cam in these peanut cammed 305 TPIs really wakes them up (I'm running an almost identical cam to you)... Anyway, should be the same story for a near stock 5.0 (done that a few times as well, various year models...) I think a 96-98 Cobra would probably win, but I've not run one. I haven't raced a 99+ GT in the IROC either, probably a good run that would be very interesting though...
A stock or mildy modded GT up to 98 should be no trouble for you assuming your car is running right. You may be able to handle a 99+ GT but it is going to be close I would think. Like I said, my 86 IROC is running nearly the exact same setup as yours, in fact it's scary how similar they are, lol. About the only substantial differences is I ran 3.42s instead of 3.23s...
Oh yeah, I also ran my buddies 98 LS1 Z28 a few times, and it wasn't as pretty an outcome. That was before my TES headers though. Now the IROC is my brother's so I won't be monkeying with it anymore to find out what it would take. I would venture a guess that it would take a full aftermarket intake base and runner set, along with some better heads to take the LS1 in the 1/4... Just a guess.
