Iroc-Z vs a Ford Pickup?
So I'm going down Kolb Road in Tucson, and a blue mustang pulls up next to me at the light. Light turns green we both take off slow then stomp it at about the same time. We both spin into second gear, and I start to pull ahead. The Mustang gives me the flash and then pulls up next to me... the blonde girl driving says, "Shame on you, picking on girls!" Then she quickly turns down 22nd. Now this is someone I gotta meet.
And I know she goes to the local track... but anyway....
A couple blocks later the 3 lane turns into 2 lanes. A Chevy S-10 pickup and a Ford Pickup are behind me. The S-10 goes from the merge lane, across two lanes to the left.... cutting off the Ford. (I'm in the middle.) The Ford jumps two lanes to the right, to get the merge lane. I figure I can pull out in front of the Ford with a little push of the gas, then he throws a rev.
The light turns green, and my tires decide they didn't want to grab the street... lit them up across the whole intersection and the truck gets half a car on me. I finally get some grip, but I can't gain more than a few feet on him. Neck and neck, we get to the end of the merge and I move over a lane to let him in. We get to the next light, and do it again... this time I had traction. I pulled a car on him, then he kept up until about 70 MPH and I started to pull away. He never let off, though... so neither did I... until I noticed I was doing 120 in a 55.
We pull into a Safeway parking lot and it turns out he had a 5.0 HO Mustang engine in it, Mustang transmission, and 3.73 gears.
The last thing I would expect from a pickup truck.

I love sleepers. A buddy of mine has one of the greatest ones I've ever ridden in. Heres the story:
We are out driving in his 87 Fiero GT and he tells me he did some engine work, but wouldn't tell me what. We end up next to a Vette and he wants to throw down. The Vette owner laughs but does it. Light turns green and we launch like a bat out of hell. Smoked the Vette BIG TIME. We pull over and the guy tells us he did some work to his motor and we look. My buddy pops the hatch and low and behold and WELL worked over 3.8 with turbo directly out of a GN.
To this day I still say that has to be one of the fastes cars I've been in to date. Even faster than a Viper.
