OK WE HAVENT RACED YET BUT I WANT TO SEE HOW CLOSE WE WILL BE. I HAVE AN 88' SC W/ A .040 350, DOUBLE HUMP HEADS W/ 1.94 1.5 VALVES, PERFORMER INTAKE W/ 1 INCH SPACER, HOLLEY 600 CARB, ACCELL 45,000 VOLT DITRIBUTOR AND COIL, 3.42 POSI REAR, ALUMINUM DRIVE SHAFT, BOXED STOCK LOWER CONTROL ARMS, NO CARPET, NO HEADLINER, NO COMPUTER, NO SPAIR, 265'S IN REAR 235'S UP FRONT, CUSTOM RAM AIR SINCE AIR CLEANER STICKS THROUGH THE HOOD
HE HAS A 99' TA W/ 3.42 POSI, AUTO, DRAG SHOCKS, RAPTOR HOOD, AND STICKY TIRES
TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK. I THINK I'LL BE RIGHT NEXT TO HIM THE WHOLE TIME

I'd have to go with the TA. I've raced two LS1 TA's, the one at the track ran a 12.8 with MAF, filter, cat-back and Yank converter. The one on the street gave me a car off the line and blew by me around 45 MPH like I was standing still. That one appeared to be stock. Good Luck!

Really it is hard to say how much power your engine is making. I guess it is easier to say that you are limited by your heads. Unlike older gen 1 blocks, LS1's seem to find power with every small mod and arent so picky about what you do to them. I'd say that your combo should be a strong performer...but I would say you'd probably loose downtrack to the LS1.

Keep in mind that the driver is going to play a major role in this race. I have seen stock LS1's pull upwards of 14.0 at the track (mostly 6 speed cars) because of poor driving/granny shifting.

I guess there is only one way to find out who will win . Give him a run and see what happens!
