I don't know what 1 of those will run, but I'd bet on it being slower than stock because of add ons. To beat something like that and many other cars all it takes it a built 350 SBC.

Stock they are low 14 second'ish cars. So assuming that he added at least 300 pounds of useless **** to that car (not including the model i would say that a decent (maybe vortec headed, decent cammed, headers, etc.) 350 swap would run with him unless he is running more boost than stock or anything like that. Even still it looks like an all show less go car.

Yeah, you're gonna have to ditch the LG4, assuming that's the motor you have.

good luck man i hope you get a 350 hell put a ****ing LS-1 motor in there, then maybe with some gear work, and suspention, youll take him on, but if hes done engine work to that thing hes going to spank you off the line....ive seen a mildly modded vr-4 tool around my house, and those things are like rockets, his all wheel drive will get you off the line, just do alot of work and alot of praying lol i wish you the best of luck man

You need 350 or bigger. I would suggest a 383. The only mods I could pick up from his actual performance would exhaust, an intake and a polished manifold, and possibly a boost controller. But of course those things are stock fast, but look at the fact that is about 4000lbs stock. Add the body kits and other stuff and the driver I would say it would be pushing almost 4500 or more. Given he could crank up his boost a few psi, not very many, I think that he would be in the mid 13's.

i guess it would depend on your budget, and how much u know about cars,to decide what engine u should go for, but i know a guy with a modded 305tpi that would probably take that thing down

http://www.ratsting.com/~rat/pics/in...%2FIASwin1.jpg

After carefull deliberation and studying these pics i came up with a conclusion...

1. The car is ugly
2. The model is hot
3. Fartcan is huge
4. Ive seen better spoilers and setups on VR4's
5. Those cars are heavy stock and with all that crap tsk tsk
6. Rice Rice Rice Rice Rice Rice
7. Those arent the same cars
Now why arent they...they look the same but ive noticed that those pics with the trophies have a bunch of stickers and blah blah blah holy crap look at the list on the hood...now look at the other pics...where did they go..is this a new thing is ***** technology...the shades of the cars are two different tones...and something else bothers me about it but i cant put my finger on it...but you can bet i will the model he he

all the pictures of the car are the same, the preivious owner had slowly built it up and had entered into the show. About the weight, i got even more of a challenege, all the panels and body kit are all carbon fiber and are very light. the spoiler and body kit are the only ones like that in North america, in case you were wondering. i agree the fartcan is a little much, but nonethelesss the car is quick as heck and is gonna be tough to beat. i might scrounge money to get a 383 stroker that has like 430 HP from somewhere and maybe try some alternate modificatins to the car to make it lighter. anything else you all can suggest or where i can get an engine like that for cheap?
Thanks for all the help thus far.

That car wouldn't be so bad without the 9238749237493247 decals.

It is pretty clean....

Do whatever it takes to spank him.

First off, the money he spent on that car wasn't all in go-fast mods. It was mostly in appearance and the cost of the car. You already have him beat...

Heres a recipe for killing imports on your "budget" :

GM performance Parts Fast-Burn 385 crate engine. -$3999

Built 700R4 or T56 six speed if you prefer. The 700R will be cheaper but the T56 will be more fun -$2000 MAX

12 Bolt with good posi unit and 4.10 gears -$2000 MAX

Install all (if you don't plan on doing it yourself) -$2000
TOTAL INVESTMENT $10,000 or less

This combo would be good for low 12 second timeslips. Try adding a 150HP shot of nitrous and it'll be in the low 11's easy.

Judging by the mods he listed he should be mid-low 13's - even with all that add-on goofy crap.

Get a ZZ4, HotCam, 3.73 gears and some sticky tires and he'll be playing a lot of catch up

It could cost alot less if you do it differently and let some1 that knows what they're doing build it, even if everything isn't new.

Sure it could be done cheaper, but new parts with somewhat of a warranty seem to be the most reliable way to go.

What I would do is search for a good performance shop in your area. Don't just call them... stop by their shop and see what projects they have around to get an idea of their workmanship. Talk to the owner/manager and put together a plan. If you can come to terms with him then order your parts from ScogginDickey or somewhere else of your choice. Whatever u do don't let the shop get the parts, just because theres room for a price markup...bringing your own parts will save you a lot of $.

If you were here in MI I could refer you to someone but I think you're a little too far away.

update.

Last nite he had it out for one last spin around the city and the tire unseated itself, so instead of getting new turbos, he is going to get a new rim and a new tire, some where around 1500 bucks, i think. in any event his car is going to be outta commision, even though i really like his car, taking off the front bumper last nite in about 20 degrees was not fun. just thought i would share.

i had a vr4 up until i converted last year

it ran a best of 13.82
bone stock with 90k on it and the boost cranked up to ten pounds
(yeah i know the gauge in the car says ten at full boost but its more like eight!)
so with a bone stock 4000 pound plus car it went that fast

go buy a lt1 camaro (bone stock)
put a bottle on it and tell him he wasted his twenty grand

this would be doable for under twelve easy!!!

Go get a 3.8 turbo. It'll be over before the 1/8 mile even with his awd...
