the new mustang gt's are low 14 second cars stock with the occasional very high 13 second gt. There is no way in hell a v6 stang can even get close to that stock. 14's are wayyyyyyyy out of a v6 stang's league. High 15's with a good driver is more like it.
If your car is in good tune i think you will take him.

'99 v6 mustang:
* Horsepower: 190 @ 5250rpm
* Torque: 220 @ 2750rpm
* Weight: 3,065 lbs
I raced a '01 v6 mustang when my car was running bad and it was the closest race i've ever had. We raced from 40mph on. But when we raced off the line it was no contest. In other words race off the line. Good luck!

Okay, my friends went 15.4 without touching it at 1200' elevation with a good driver. Then with tires (Mcreary dirt tires) and some bolt-ons he went in the high 14s. At my track they are in the mid 15s and some of the guys have claimed very low 15s from other tracks (15.0-15.2s). MM&FF got a 14.9 out of one also with a great driver (the same guy got a 12.9 out of and LS1, and we all know that can happen).
If anyone believes an LS1 can run in the low 13s high 12s bone stock, then you should believe a low 15 high 14 out of a V6 Mustang. Rememeber a driver can make the difference especially on the street with a stick!

maybe the ones i raced were just slow, but i know my rs is nowhere near 14's and every v6 stang ive raced ive won. I just dont see the v6 stang coming close to the gt performance seeing that most gt's are low 14 second cars. You are a mustang guy so you prolly know more than i do about them so you are prolly right. I was just stating my stock rs has beat every v6 stang ive raced and i'm nowhere near 14's.
sorry its been so long but ive been working like crazy, i have a th700r4 trans and i know what alot of you are saying about the v6's because ive raced a ton but none as new as 2000, all the mid 90's ones are slow but a few said they finally grew some *****, maybe just one, but i was just wondering what you had to say about it, he seems decent with the 5spd but he never raced on a track and probably not much on street either, the car is bone stock and he doesnt have posi on it but i think ima go for it and put some faith into my car, i know i cant beat the newer GT's because ive tried and it was close so im pretty confident on this v-6, im racin the first weekend of april (when i get my license back) over at dody so ill let you all know how i do.
