New SS trucks....Vs....lets say me

These new trucks look pretty sweet. But, the air dams arent functional...that sucks. What are they running? It would be cool if they had LS1..but, anyone know #'s for them?
To keep it 3rd gen realated.....how would I do against one?

In years past youd could get the V-10 in the dodge truck. Not quite viper power but same displacment none then less. The new GM trucks are in fact LS1's. There is a 4.8, 5.3, 5.7 (f-body and vette) and the 6.0. They have the same exact design with different internal sizes. In the 2001 and 2002 model years of the f-body LS1 the 6.0 truck cam was used in addition to the LS6 intake. I have heard nothing but horrible things about the new Hemi. It really isn't that special and I geuss a GM truck with the 6.0 can beat it pretty easily. This is what I have read so no flames please. Go to LS1.com and some hemi guys have seen the GM light and have crossed over. I have read about 4 or 5 stories where guys traded their new Hemi for a GM after a month of driving it.

ok first of all the v-10 in the dodge ram is the engine that inspired the viper engine and is very close to what a viper engine is. the new srt-10 truck will go 0-60 in 5.2 sec. and also the new hemi has better flowing head than the original the only reason its not as impressive is because it not a 426. and sorry if i come off as trying to tell you guys off im just stating the facts.

I think you have it backwards. The Viper got the engine long before the pickup did. Do some homework junior.

I was disappointed to learn that the hemi rams only ran like a 16.5- Truckin' Magazine. I would like to run one with my L03 because I ran a 16.3 last summer.

I just read in car and driver that the new SS trucks run 14.8 and you know that there times are always a little weaker than the cars actually run , they said a stock vette runs 13.1 so think you can expect mid 14's from a ss truck. Good luck.

Yea, mid to high 14's in that truck is about right. AWD, 345hp motor... i wish they would make the one they have a concept for. Its a standard cab silvarado, but with the same look of the air dams and dubs, but with a twist in the engine and drivetrain. It has a 395 hp 6.0 (think 6.0+LS6=Awesome), 6spd, and 3.73 for gears. its 2wd and it would put some distance on a lightning. Price range... 25-32k.
