Ok, did you see how bad the Bird spun ALL THE WAY through first? Synapsis said he could drive, thats the race right there. Besides, no one said a 350 couldnt beat an LT1, we're talking 305, little difference there bud. Also, Synapsis said he puts about ONE LENGTH on LT1's. If that is the case, there is NO WAY a near stock 305 is going to beat a well driven LT1 that is in good tune. The other thing I see in the video is the race looked like it was only to about 60 or so, it definitely wasn't a full 1/4 mile, I timed it, it was only 9 seconds from the time the light went green.

 

thank you!!!!!!!!!!i figured that before the video,i was not tryin to be an a** about it its just not a real race,been racing these cars since they were new if it was a 350 i would not have been so quick to call the flag but a 305 naaaaah!!!!!!IDEA,do it again and race an american car 1/4mi.not that import 1/4,i also thought more about it and what if the bird was a non-performance axle ratio car then it would have 2.73s and then yea it may just have an outcome similar to that but not even a full 1/4 pass just aint tryin to hear that!!!!!!!!!

b) If you're still pulling on someone halfway through third, what's the point of continuing? You know the outcome.

a) Chris' car runs almost even with my car from a dig, and I'm gonna bet he'd pass me from a 30 mph roll.
b) I'm willing to bet that his rocker arms, exhaust, and afpr make him equal/tad better than a 350 TPI. The difference is what? 30 hp?

Maybe driver ability makes a 305 able to beat an LT1? 80% of people racing on the street don't even know how to launch their car. I nail people in my VW because I know the car will not hook up, so I roll off the line while they're spinning away. A 305 doesn't have much torque, so I'm sure he'd nail anyone from a dig, since he'd hook up and they'd spin.

The point is, nothing's impossible. People call BS because they're in denial.

Do that race again. So we can what? Prove to someone insignificant to our lives that it can be done? I told him to go do it, because it'd be a free trip to Vegas. Some people win trips to Vegas on game shows. All he had to do was beat an LT1 and have a bunch of bench racers cry . If ya ask me, he won out on both counts.

The problem I have here is that the two of you are basically claiming that any stock/near stock 305 TPI can take out an LT1, which is simply not the case. Synapsis you got lucky and raced someone who couldnt drive for ****, if they would have hooked and launched as well as you did, it would have been an even race. The LT1's horsepower would have taken over when your TPI started choking the engine up high. Go race someone who car actually drive their car and through a full 1/4 mile, and do it over and over again, then tell me you can beat LT1's. Till then, you got lucky.

 

Ok here's the deal, the guy in the green LT1 trans am........we KNOW this guy, he is mrt89rs from these boards, go talk to him, its not a fluke race on the video, we continually race him weekend after weekend with the same results, and his car is a perfectly tuned up Lt1 with less miles than either of our cars, but all things considered, it is probably MORE stock than ours. A mildly modified TPI car beating an Lt1 is not that hard, little things make all the difference, such as gutted cats, air boxes, AFPR, things like that. I have the bare essential speed mods on my 305 iroc that enables it to keep up with or beat SOME LT1 cars, is that so hard to believe? Did I ever say ALL lt1 cars????

 

Ok buddy, you pay the way I'll bring my car, then we can gamble (hint hint, I have two cars moron, and the other one I dont' even waste time racing Lt1's in ):lala:
