1. no his bike cant do a 10.
2. if it was modded to be capable if just doing a 10, it really cant with him (obviously not a pro drag racer on it)

3. why does everyone think bikes are fast at drag racing?

think about this.
  • when you goto launch a sportbike, the center of gravity is HIGH. real high. thats why they wheelie. so you cant launch at WOT.. or too hard
  • all your accleration is from lower speed. mostly the gearing helps you with that... but it does accelerate FAST from this lower speed... basicly as fast as it can while keeping the front wheel down
  • once you get going pretty fast (fast hwy speeds and up) the bike isnt pulling as hard... afterall, it is only making 170-200hp. its around this point that bolt on LS1s and other modded cars start raping bikes on the hwy.

so what you end up with is this:
  • bike always seems fast because it can jet around town good.
  • ignorant people always look at sportbikes and assume FAST
  • most people are stupid anyway. bike looks faster, therefore bike is faster.

ironicly, the fastest drag bikes are the huge CI (yea CI not cc) import cruisers.. like the warrior for example.
low, long, with a huge motor and fat rear tire... just describing it sounds like a drag machine.

When start getting up in the 900-1100 cc bikes, your gonna need some serious equiptment to run them. I have seen many vids of cars vs bikes and usually bikes do win. I have one vid of a Twin turbo firehawk just edging out a YZF1000. 80mph roll to 140+mph. Also a new R1 getting roasted by a Porshe 996 twin turbo from roll. These big bikes are capable of 10 sec 1/4s. Another of a 9sec mustang vs drag bike where mustang killed it off the line but bike caught it in 1/4.

What makes you think that I'd say I could beat a 600 bike? I've edged out bikes before, but not crotch rockets. And what does this have to do with sea level?

My whole point was, that you make a point of saying how far ahead you were, but then kind of nonchalantly slip in how he let off during the race. I wasn't even questioning you winning. You certainly could, if your car was as fast as you say it is.

In the future, take off your panties before you post something, so they don't get twisted up when you start squirming. When you put something on-line it's going to get critiqued; better learn to deal with it.

Dude, its one thing to object to someone being here, as i wil ladmit I have done. But it is entirely another thing to jump on someone. This is like the third time you have done this. I would say that you are lucky that stu isnt reporting this kinda crap, cause you would already be banned. If you dont like him, fine, dont respond to him, or put him on your ignore list, or something.

Hey, guess what? You're in no position to ask me not to post in yours, or anyone elses threads. Get over. I've never called BS on anyones threads, even yours.

I think that Cameron is just mad that I'm not swinging from his nuts just because his car is fast. Get over yourself and quit acting like a little girl.

Lets not even get into the larger 1+ liter bikes. It will take more than a "bolt-on LS1" or "other modded cars" to beat most bikes from a roll or stop. There are several vids floating around the net of stock 600-750cc bikes taking out all sorts of strong street cars (400rwhp+) with ease, no matter when the race started.

Cameron - you both knew the race was going on. You ended up in front. That's all we need to know

Do you know how quick most sportbikes are? Most 600cc bikes (R6, GSXR600, ZX6R, CBR600RR) run low 11s, some can even run high 10's. Most 1000cc bikes run mid to low 10s. This is assuming the person riding knows how to ride.

I don't know of any current production sportbike that puts down 170-200hp. Maybe crank hp, but not rwhp.

Power to weight ratio is why bikes are quick. 150rwhp in a bike that weighs 400bls = quick.

its more of an import/domestic thing but I can care less if stu has a integra. I like it. its fast as hell and lot faster than most of the cars on here. He has about 5 grand into it including the cost of the car? Who here is running low 12's (is that right stu?) with only 5 grand to their thirdgen. His car looks like a beater econo car but it moves!! One hell of a sleeper. Oh did I mention its a frickin 4 banger with about 1/2 the cubes of some of our cars?

He knows his import knowledge and stuff on domestics too. If it wasnt for him, alot of us would be clueless on what is out there. Everytime someone jumps in to say what imports are capable of, people bash them. Well we got to live in reality that some imports are fast and we need people on here that know their stuff so we know what our cars are up against. Damn, chill out! Getting banned over some guy with an import just because he has an import on a domestic site aint worth it. Like others said, if you dont like him, then dont. Ignore him. This is a Theoretical street racing board so with out an abundance of knowledge here, how would be know what other cars can do out there? I wouldnt believe his car is as fast as he says until i saw some pics, slips, and dyno sheets.

Alot of cars here are 14 second cars (like mine but can do high 13's just havent done it yet) and that by no means qualifies them as faster than most cars out there. Cars are getting faster and imports with mods will take us. 14's aint fast for us here at normal elevations, and imports can easily get there. Fortunately most arent, at least round my area. So chill out guys, this board just gets flooded with arguments and it kinda sucks.

You are so full of. I doubt you even have the motor in your sig, but coincidentally the combination you describe is exactly like my friends old 75 camaro right down to the fully ported 882 junk heads and 292 cam. He ran 13.2 with 4.10's

1981z28- give it up, your engine, and all of your talk is fake and made up. No one believes you, you definately didnt get in the 11's with those heads. no way.

Cameron, WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? Why are you posting racially offensive material here? Thats not cool man, no matter what. Take that crap down and grow up goddamnit, you just ruin it for the grown-ups who like to play here.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but my car runs low 14's at 106mph with 2.4 60's. I've come to the conclusion that with 2.0 60's, I should be at mid to low 13's.

That was some of the biggest babbling crap I have ever heard in my life. Yes it is BS. No one here believes anything you say. No one would believe your dyno sheet now anyway, after you faked a couple.

882's are in NO WAY a good head. You can argue this all you want, but you are not making that kind of horsepower with a 9.2 CR, with 882 heads.

The more I read Cameron's posts the more I start anticipating a horrific accident report in the region of the county he lives.

Cameron... man... I've read with interest the story of how you scored your Camaro. I've envied the specs on your car. The bad thing is these powerful cars can be like a gun in the hand of a toddler. Please be mature with your car and on this forum.

Two favors please. For me... nobody else:
  • Don't make 3rd Gen cars look cheesy in public by burning your tires, squealing around turns, looking for races etc.
  • Don't get killed.

Regards,

STU, i was refering to lower normal altitudes like below 3000 feet. Your up like 5000 feet so, corrected times would be possible 12's right?

Either way its still impressive.

Thanks Orr89RocZ. I think at sea level with some traction that 12's would be possible, but not low ones.
