2 races...2wins

Raced a 78 Formula tonight. Not a crowded street by any means. First from a roll bout 23mph...dead even until about 55mph where oddly enough the tpi pulls a bit on him till I shut down at 65mph. Next we catch a light as we both cruise it. He throws a rev my way..I do nothing. I was thinking...TPI=bottom end=chance!!! I load it up a bit light goes green and I jump on him. I get him by about 1 1/2 car lengths where I again shut it down at 65mph. Next light he asked me to roll it down(window)I gladly do and he asks me "what kind of motor do you have?" I say "305 TPI". He says.."Sweet never seen anyone build one of those before" LOL "Gee...thanks dude". He says "well catch you later". He speeds off. All I see is the sticker he has in the back window.."78 Formula" Sweet car.
Next one was about 11:30pm tonight as well with a Acura RSX Type-S. Kid is riding me I pay no attention to him. Stop sign comes up he is behind me reving like a dumba**. I take off slowly. Follwing stop sign, right before I get to it. He swings over next to me. I take off slowly from the stop and all I hear is a "peel out". So I gun it instantly pull on him by more than enough throw on the hazards(how childish huh? lol)I slow down and make my turn as he goes stright. I go down my street and see him coming again from in front of me. I turn into my house where I get out talk on my cell to say g-nite to my girl and he passes by reving. I look at him and wave "Bye bye". Time for bed. lol.
Thought I would share it with you. It was my first time racing the car since I got it back a month ago. I runs ok but needs a custom prom bad!!!

I hate to break it to you, but stock for stock any '78 Formula would have probably lost to you. They are a few hundred pounds heavier than a thirdgen and the best engine that could be put into one was the Pontiac 400cid which only produced 200 HP. A modded 305 could put one of those to shame easily.

The guy probably had a stock engine. I think if he had put some work into it, you would have been seeing taillights. Then again, maybe you just have a really impressive 305.

That said, good kills!

LoL, thanks I think? lol
Well my roc has run a best of 14.6@93mph here in town. Uncorrected. That would be a low to high 14-13. So not all that great but more than enough for now until the 350 is done in the Firebird.
He did have the almighty Flowmaster sticker and Accel sticker on it, nothing to impressive.
Oh well I will take impressive or not. lol.

Ya, those '78's or so were tanks on wheels. They'd need a whole lotta
