estimated hp and 1/4?

Hey everyone, heres the story.

Hopefully within the next day or two, tuestday at the latest, i will be going to look at a '85 berlinetta. It has a 383 ci engine in it, B&M transmission, 373 posi, headers and a custom exhaust on it. So my question is what would be your guess horsepower wise and in the quater mile? I understand exact numbers are impossible, im looking more for just an estimated range.

Thanks a head of time,

Mike

Yeah, give us more info on your engine, and we'll be able to make a reasonable guess. Along with any other mods that you know of on the car.

But as a starter, most 383s that were built even somewhat right will run in the 12s with these cars. It's also a possibility that it's a 10 second car. Or it might be a totally dog 13.7-14.0 lemon 383. Need more info.

No I am not "owned"

If we could rid the board of stupid threads maybe I wouldn't be on probation.

We don't know if its a carb, tpi, tbi, if it has aggressive cam, what type of heads, compression ratio...all we know it is 383 and has headers omg

IMO the poster of this thread shouldn't get this thirdgen because he prolly can't change the oil, or know how to put gas in...

if its mostly stock, and well-tuned it could have anywhere from 350, and 400. with some good tires you could prolly turn 13's maybe even 12's if your lucky. but it all depends on mods and how well its tuned for horse power. the quater mile will depend on how good you can get that power to the ground. stock suspension sucks. its probably pretty fast for just a street car/daily driver.
