97 LT1 Vs 83 Trans Am
So I was cruising yesturday in the 97 around 11:30pm just to do it. I came to a stop light when a Tran Am pulled up. It was nice(except it had no rear spoiler gross). I thought nothing of him. Light goes green and I hear him get on it. I did nothing. He slowed down with his friend in the passenger side grinning. Rolling he kept hitting it. Well after he got on it again I gave him a little over 2 car lenghts then hit it. Passed him pretty easy. Next light he started to really rev the poor t/a, black smoke shotting and all
. I loaded the conveter to 1500, light went green pulled quickly about 3 car lead and shut down when I hit 55mph(no need to go any faster than that). At the next light, his friend and him were laughing. I looked at them and asked what year his car was? "83" he shouted. I said "cool, very clean". "Yeah but obviously slow" he said. "I thought I would have taken you" he said. Well needless to say I invited him to out next club meet and he accepted. At least he wants to possibly join our car club!
Oh and also raced a Civic as well last night but that was boring so I will not even write about that.

Most of us stock guys know better than to mess with any LT1 or LS1 but it sounds like you 2 had some fun which was the whole point

I did I must say
I didn't think that he would do it either but it looks like it was for fun more than winning. Except that he did say he thought he could take me. lol still fun.
