Now before you go about laughing, asking yourself "This kid has a built up 350, why is he proud that he kept up with a V6 Mustang?", I will tell you the tale.

Me and my buddy were cruising Gratiot last night, and there was nobody out. We were driving along, and this green mustang, probably around 00-02ish era drives along side of me. My buddy was like "Maybe he wants to race", and I tell him that I wouldnt waste the gas on a little V6. Well the Mustang lets off the gas a little, and slows down a little bit. Then I heard this noise, like the gods screaming....he flew past me with incredible speed. I was like "Something tells me that is no ordinary V6", so I catch up to him, he looks at me, and I give him the thumbs up. We both punch it at about 40mph, and I kept up with him neck and neck all the way untill we both let up. It was a fun race. We both stopped at a red light, and I ask him "Thats a V6, Right?". He grins, then nods his head. I was like "What are you running on that 6?" He grins again and says "Twin Turbos!". After I picked up my jaw off the floor, I say "Good Race". He waves, and we both went our seperate ways.

He said about an 00-02. I would say you raced a 13 second Mustang there. Those cars are low 15s at best stock, figure him with exhaust and twin turbos (I would have gone single, but what do I know) would put him into the 13s somewhere.

Not a bad run, and glad noone was a sore loser or winner!

there is a guy in FL that has a twin turbo v6 mustang with an essentially stock motor and some serious tranny mods that runs high 10's.

Funny you should mention a 2000-ish V6'r. I was comming home from work a couple days ago slightly after midnight when from a light on a 10mph roll a dude in his V6 punches it. Well, I figured "what the hell".

I was 1 car length back and I pushed her like a **** and swear I heard the tires squeal into 2nd and even third. I could see the dude in the mustang next to me shifting at around the same points aswell. At 300m or so later I've got a car length on him.

As I slow down and approach the next light I'm making a left to head home. I'm giggling hysterically thinking what a dumbash this guy must feel like. As he pulls up I see him smiling. I give him the thumbs up and he returns the same.

I pull into my driveway and park the my unmarked daily driven grocery gettin' shyyt kickin' '92 Merc Topaz t5 V6'r. Not exactly a thirdgen. But it felt pretty good. I slapped down a high 5 on the hood for a job well done. Ho-hum to another almighty mustang....hehe
