86 IROC vs. 94 325is
Both of these are mine. I just got the BMW yesterday and to me it feels faster. The Camaro is a stock 305 TPI 700r, BMW is the stock six with five speed tranny. I don't know, has anyone done this one for real?

Re: 86 IROC vs. 94 325is
I raced a 3 series BMW in my daily driver this past fall, and I pulled him from a 10mph up to 60mph where we let out, he was in a 330 I beleive, I was in a 99 Grand Am w/ headers exhaust and a tune, does about 15 flat at 90mph. I would think your IROC could win, from a stop definetly, from a roll is gonna be tougher. 5spd cars always feel faster, my SVT Contour ran slower than the Grand Am, but felt like a rocketship with a tight 5spd and high revs, vs the GrandAm that only hits gears 1 and 2 in the quarter. Try the race, let us know.

i owned a 93 325i they feel fast and peppy handle great too, but u should smoke it with youre 305. beemers have no tork! get traction and youll win..i know own a 97 bmw m3. lots of work suspension, drop, bilseins.intake, exhaust, ect... its pretty fast and handles insane(new tires every year, camber) But id rather smoke the tires in my thirdgen anyday! although topend over 80mph the beemer is freaking animal.

bcfiroc,
Your 305, as long as its in good tune, will take your bm but depending on how the bm is driven and what speed you race to. The bm has hp and are geared for top end speed. So all that being said, with a good driver and low speed race (60--70mph) your camero takes it. Freeway racing ---> bm

Re: 86 IROC vs. 94 325is
Ok after driving the bmw again today and settling down from the fact that it's a new car to me, it's starting to feel a little slower. I know that the top end would slaughter the IROC esp. if i put a chip in the BMW wich will prolly be the next thing that happens. O to about 70 or 80 though i think it would get beat. I'm not used to having the five speed so i guess my initial impression of being able to rip through the gears myself warped my opinion.
