Lt1 in a third gen
what do u think a stock lt1 with a t56 would run in the quarter and 0-60? Would it be faster or slower than a 4th gen lt1 fbody?

Re: Lt1 in a third gen
from what i recall third gens are lighter then fourth gens by a few hundred pounds, so i believe the third gen would be faster
Re: Lt1 in a third gen
Should be faster.
My LT1 thirdgen t/a weighs around a couple hundred pounds less than by brothers 4th gen LT1 t/a. Then again, I don't have t-tops, power leather seats, airbags, emmisions equipment like his does. A lot of variables can come into play for weight and then other things like gears, tires, etc...

It should be much faster. A guy in our local club has a stock 95' LT1 with the stock T5 and 3.42 gears and runs 12.9 in his '89 IROC.
