Raced 79 formula 462c.i. with my 88 TA 383c.i. LT1 intake.

Well I raced my buddys 79 formula the other day we started at 35mph and ran up to about 100mph-110mph and we were nose to nose the whole way. His car has a 462 big block aluminum edlebrock heads, big cam, full true dual exhaust w/ cutouts which were wide open for the race (sounded like a monster truck), not sure about which carb or intake, He has a th-350 trans with 3.73 gears on some bfg drag radials.
My 88 TA has a 383 sbc with LT1 intake, trickflow 195cc heads, cam is a 230/236 .510int .520exh, hooker 1 3/4 long tubes, mufflex ypipe, flowmaster exhaust, th-350 3500 stall , 3.73's w/ bfg drag radials. I was very pleased with the results as his car sounds like a monster.

Impressive! However, you didn't mention a stall speed being employed on his part, and we don't know what kind of carb he's running. These are two huge factors (considering your stalled) that were definitely key w/the outcome. Either way,

impressive....you are running a slighty larger cam, better exhaust and bigger stall. I should hope to run such a challenging race.
