Re: 84 ta 1/4

you may want to have a backup engine lined up for when that one blows.

What cam, what intake manifold, what's your compression?

I'm going to say your ET will be however long it takes the tow truck to tow you after you grenade your motor on a 250 shot.

All connecting rods are forged what kind of steel in those rods is what matters. If there stock I dont see it lasting long but if there rated at 500+ I don't see a problem. I've see a lot of stock crank shafts handle a 200 shot as long as you have good quality bearing, head gaskets, and pistons rings it should hold up but not forever. My guess is (If your suspension is right) 11.8-12.2 1/4mile.

Re: 84 ta 1/4

If you can build the engine to take a 250 shot, you're gonna blow out the rear end the first time you launch on the gas. You need to seriously consider the driveline along with the engine build and tune if you're thinking of running a 250 shot. Gonna need to know the baseline HP before we speculate on what you could run... I'd say anywhere from low 11's to mid 12's.
