I figured I would just post a few of the races I was involved in in the past few weeks since returning my car to driving condition. My car is an 86 Firebird, 350 with summit shorty headers, a headman y pipe, gutted cat and Flowmaster force II catback., 700r4, with a Warner 3.08 nine bolt with a posi. First off, I raced a new/newish VW rabbit GTI. It was deffinately turbo, had an exhaust and BOV. We raced from around 55, uphill, it was even through the starting gears, he shifted, I shifted, and then I pulled away. My next race was against an 86 Mustang GT. 5.0 EFI, dual exhaust, auto, 4.11 gears and a shift kit. We ran from a standing start. It was even off the line, He had traction issues, we were even for most of the midrange, and he pulled a nose on me before we called it done. Overall, I am impressed with my car. For a car I paid 250 for, with a 100 dollar motor from an 85 suburban, a free transmission that i had no idea of the working condition of when given to me, and a $60 rear, im happy. For something cobbed together, everything works. Basically, I just want other peoples opinions on this, good, bad, or whatever, I want to know what other people think.
