I wouldnt race for titles if I had a 1200 hp car.Anything could happen.You could tear up your trans,drop the driveshaft.I mean come on this guy cant be for real?ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN,and you could loose your car.Stock for stock those lx 5.0`s were faster than tpi 305`s and as fast as alot of 350`s depending on driver,trans,gear.Anybody old enough to have a wife and kids should remember that I love the jesus picture.That guy,no doubt,will not be replying to this thread if he is for real.

 

???? I would race a 5.0 LX with a 305 TPI 5 spd, I'm pretty sure it would beat the stang. and a 5.7 tpi would beat it too...

 

With a 5speed a tpi 305 would be close,but an A4 isnt 190 hp to 225.I`ve been in that race before.Friend of mine had a low mileage 90 LX 5.0 5speed and it was a beast.Beat me all the time.Granted niether one of us could drive,but he would rape me...and another friend who had a 350 A4 in a T/A.Now buddy with a formula350 would pull him every time but there was abig differance in gears between the two t/a`s and the formula 350.I`ve only seen one a couple of 305tpi 5speed around here in my life.Pretty rare around here from what I can tell.
I guess If I could buy one I could one I could start racing "stangs" for there titles.

I read one on here a couple years ago where a guy hooked up N2O and said it wasnt doing anything when he hit the button.He couldnt understand.He said he drilled a hole and put the nozzle in the timeing cover at the cam or something.I`m no "mechanic" but I know enough to know it goes somewhere on the intake track.Or,I know to just read the directions or ask questions if I dont know much about it.

its good to hear you had pride in your ride. i think we all are pretty proud of our cars. im so proud of mine that i would never be stupid enough to run it for titles. did you expect us to be sympathetic with you? and if i could afford to buy 5 more camaros, i think the one i raced (in your case, LOST) wouldve been better equipped to run that 5.0. and when you get mad enough to tell us off next time at least take your time typing it out so we can read it. kinda makes you look a little more moronic when we dont know what the hell you're trying to say. did you not think you were gonna get ragged and picked on about this? i am the proud owner of an LO3 and I would race a 5.0 mustang for pinks any day... as long as it had about 300,000 miles on it, one flat tire, a blown head gasket, and no first gear

and thats why i deserted and got a 4th gen LS1... i know i know... but goin from 10.2's in the 1/8th to 8.9's in the 1/8th sure is a lot more fun.

and that LS1 will beat the PIS* out of that 5.0 mustang.

 

My stock TPI 350 does 8.5's in the 8th on ET Streets. I built a friend of mine a literal pile of JUNK Mustang, we called it project trash can, I poured water out of a few of the cylinders and had to crank it over with no spark plugs for a while to clean it all up and on street tires it went 8.8's. This was STOCK, the only real mods were a C4 trans and the low gears the car come with coupled with gorilla weight reduction throughout. I'm not going to rail you on racing I'm just going to tell you to learn a bit more about what you have and your competition. A few trips to the local test and tune will help you out alot.

You drive a TBI iroc in a race against a 5.0 stang, get your *** handed to you on a silver platter, and than two days later you buy the car that he beat you with? How dumb can you be, not only did he get an Iroc, but he also has 3500$ to mod the crap out of it. And if you can buy 4 camaros tomorrow, please do. And learn to form coherent scentences.

 

Ok what everyone else said and i'll race your little 5.0. You had a SLOW AS HELL 305tbi and a 5.0 302 is faster bottom line. (thats why you think its faster!) Pride is good, but not too much and thats what you had.... WAY TOO MUCH! Don't get me wrong i love Camaro's but i mean you really must not know fast cars if you really think your 305tbi modded was fast. Just pissed cause you lost and i agree with fly89gta......

 

WHAT???? 10.2 in the 1/8? im running 9.5 with wore out 215/65/15's with my LO3, and that was shifting at 4500 and with manifolds (headers look sexy in the garage ) but like i said my TBI is not near stock anymore & 8.9 in and LS1, i got a V6 honda thats only .2 seconds slower all its got is a CAI...... i know that LS1 is faster than that

 

well considering id had the car a week and the only manuals id driven b4 were '70's ford grain trucks I could probably get it better. the launches were what was killing me. A couple weeks later I had it at a 1/4 mile and I ran 13.8 @ 103 which was right where everybody else with 4th gen LS1's were runnin.

and as for my LO3 its basically stock just headers, open element nd shift kit.

yea never had the honda or camaro on a 1/4........ just seems wierd that the honda was close to that LS1.......o well.. dang import motors putting out high hp on little motors

 

Most don't put out good numbers, they typically ALL need turbos to push anything out of the 4cyl blocks...

 

My car when it was stock would beat 5.0's by a few tenths in the quarter. LB9, 5 speed, G92(3.42 gears). Thats the 230hp, 300ft lbs LB9. Never got beat by a stock 5.0 when I used to take it to the track all the time.

You got me, but FYI, I too have a 1986 Camaro Iroc-Z for over the past 3 years now and been on this site b4 then, but recently got another ride as you can see, so I don't see where I have to leave just because I got a mustang.

When I said its moments like this thats makes my day better, I was referring to the first post of the thread and seeing everyone's reaction afterwards,and how funny this is, sorry If I wasn't clear enough.
