nice to see somone put my old thread to use,u should get ur friend to post up some pictures.

and just incase u guys didnt catch it in the thread on the 3.1 motor u cannot rely on the ecm to add the additional fuel, it only works with the 2.8 maf setup. the 3.1 sd setup really needs a piggy back or standalone or real ecm tunning to be done right,though an fmu can be used safley at low boost

 

if he has done a motor swap and didn't tell you, you might loose your money.
b18's k20's are mean, and those cars weigh next to nothing.

well he doesn't have a stand alone ecm we just dropped it in learned to weld and sand bend pipe lol we both are going to go a 350 swap once one of us blows there engine form the set up who will be first lolol

 

ok let me tell u a little more about this import guy he think a rotary engine has rods and pistons .....soooo if he did anything of a swap that car would have died long ago

Most Imports are like 3rd gens...Remove all the defects and you have a pretty quick car!

in the race watchout for the vtec. its like swapping a cam in the middle of race in less than a second

low end is great then vtec and VROOOOM 9500rpms buddy.

i have to admit that my civic can probably take on my Z28.

sry didnt update trying to fix my motor and help my friend get his car form impound (camera car) long story well here it is
it happen 1-21-09 3:15am cold

it wasn't really a race more like a getaway lol the an undercover car was on 1&9 north near jersey gardens and followed us to the start point (because ***** boy think its cool to rev at every stoplight) it was a rolling 15mph start after the airport once we poured on the speed we seen light and just floored it 90 110 120 pegged off the cam car was pulled over it was a 1999 dodge neon so he didnt get very far then then 2 more Newark cop cars got in it i was like forget i blow the motor im going to blow it running the rice kid went the wrong way on a one way got stuck when a then caught me and my friend just popped a U-turn and gunned it home did u know a firebird can fly i hit a bump on route 22 at 112 and the rpms redlined and get to love that turning fishtailing to no end almost lost it on turn exits well to make a long story short the cam car got some video im going to post that i have some cam phone video my friend has value tapping form the turbo eat almost all the oil he had and no tune i think i messed up my car it wasn't meant to that a whole bottle of nos in 2 hours so now i need to find out y the car starts then stop even if u hold the throttle open and there a strong gas smell and knocking so yea -.-

form waht i know now i destoryed the cat the timing chain is done 3 spark plugs are blazed to hell theres a big bent in the oil pan on the outside i think i hit something but the brakes work

"sorry it took so long to update this thread, i've been trying to fix my cars motor, as well as help my friend (<who was filming the race) get his car out of the police impound. It's a long story, but here it is. It took place on 1-29-2009 at 3:15am and it was cold outside."

"the race ended up being more of a get away(<from the cops) than a race. There was an under cover cop car on "1&9 north" near "Jersey Gardens" who proceeded to follow us to the place that we were going to race(<we didn't notice him at this point). I think he followed us because the guy driving the Import revs his engine at EVERY stoplight. The plan was to race from a 15mph roll, the race was to begin once we past the airport. As soon as the race began, the cop behind us turned on his lights and all four of us floored it and were going in excess of 120mph (the 3.1 bird w/ N2O, the 3.1 bird with a turbo, the Import car, and the 1999 dodge neon that was filming the race.). The neon was the first car to get pulled over, then once that happened two police cars from the city of Newark, Nj joined in the chase. At this point i was worried about blowing my motor because I'd been spraying all night, but i though screw it, I'm gonna run so i kept driving fast (<also spraying?). The guy driving the Import took a wrong turn down a one way street, and got stuck and the cops caught him. Then my friend and I (<both driving birds) did a quick u-turn and raced home. "Did you know that a Firebird can fly?" Well i do, and here's why: I hit a bump on route 22 going 112mph and my car red-lined, indicating i was airborne! You have got to love "All that fishtailing, a lot of fish tailing!" I almost lost control on a turn then i exited the freeway."

"well, to make a long story short, the neon with the camera got a short piece of the race on film, and i have some on my camera phone. I plan on posting both of these videos soon. my friend has valves tapping, we think because of the turbo, his lack of anything but a stock tune, and the fact that the turbo caused so much blow by during the race and on the way home he had almost no oil left in his motor when we got home. I think I also hurt my motor that night, it wasn't (stock) designed to handle an entire bottle of N2O in 2 hours. Now i need to find out why my car starts and then dies, even if u hold the throttle open. It smells like gas, and knocks when it dopes start so it's not looking good. "

it could be the 2.8 cars that were but i dont remeber but i do know that one of the 2 does infact have a top speed limiter set

yea i think they have a speed limiter: 255mph.lol

 

i belive the 2.8 cars are set to 255mph which just means its off and the 3.1 cars are set to 112mph.its been a long time since i looked at the stock v6 ecm bins so im not sure which was wich

im pretty sure its the 2.8 cars that have no limiter cause it took me forever and a day to hit 115mph in mine when i first got it going downhill lmfao

 

Well although i don't run from the cops unless they have to make a u-turn (they can't get my plate number and im on back country roads lol)...
But then again I guess its not breaking the law until you get caught.

I never have, and never will run from the cops, even if i know I can get away, there is always the possibility of getting caught, and if you get caught running from the cops, you are screwed.
