iroc vs. gt
okay sounds a little familiar but....
how would a stock 305 tpi iroc fare against a 4.6l mustang gt? its a 97 i believe.
his is all stock except for a r1ced out body kit and he took his cat out,
he has a 5 speed but he's not exactly a champ at driving a stick,
mine is a 5.0l 305tpi, stock for now, automatic
would i have him, and if not any simple mods to make it so i do, i don't want nitrous and i'm not talking a ton of money, i want to beat him with as small an engine as possible so no 350 swap yet, i plan to drop a 383 in later but i want to keep the 305 in for a while,
let me know what you all think

Wasn't this question around before with a pic of the cars in question?
The Mustang should run into the high 14s if he can drive it, if not, you might have the win.

Re: iroc vs. gt
Well my buddies 96 grand am gt (3.4L) beat a 97 mustang gt on the freeway from about 60 to the next off ramp, in which my buddies grand am beat him to.
As I have seen the 4.6's arent much stock. I still dont think you will win but its worth a shot.
Maybe get an intake and headers-back exhaust.
BUT then again, if he drives like my buddy in his 03 GT, then you'll beat him in reverse. For some reason he cant learn how to shift quick? I dont think he can multi task quickly, so he granny shifts between gears and loses a good 500rpm per shift due to him taking so long to re-engage the gear.
Let me know what happens.
