Me and a couple of my friends were hanging out in the McDonalds parking lot late one night last week just minding our own business when a group of civics pull up and start talking trash about how third gens suck and RS's are so slow. One guy said that his 2009 Civic Si with NOS would blow the doors off my 20 yr old pile of crap 305. I just smiled and once he got done shooting his mouth off I calmly asked if he was willing to back that up with action. I told him that I would race him for pinks. He hmmm and hawwwwed and so I said, "What you don't think you can win"? I then pulled out my title and told him I had mine right here, but if he wasn't man enough. Finally after going back and forth and me embarrasing him some more in front of his friends he agreed to race for it.

We all then caravaned down to a deserted industrial area that my friend knew of that had about a mile long straight stretch of road. We sent one of his friends and one of my friends down about a 1/4 mile to make sure the winner was called fairly. We both then lined up and wait for my friend to start us. I brought the car up to about 1500 rpms and the civic kept reving his engine higher and higher. When my buddy dropped his hat I feathered the clutch out of the hole and still got some wheel spin, but overall it launched pretty good. The civic lit up the tires and then he finally hooked. By that time I was about 3 car lenghts ahead though so I kinda let off to somewhere around 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. The civic then started catching up pretty quick and I let him get to about my back bumper and then I dropped the hammer and tore him a new one. By the quarter mile mark I was about 3-4 car lengths ahead of him and pulling.

Once we turned around and went back he wasn't very happy and tried to say that I cheated and that his NOS must have been empty and that's why he had lost. I just said a bets a bet and I needed the keys. Finally after about an hour of arguing and near fights he finally turned over the keys.

so let see the pics of both the rides next to each other...o and you should deffenety add afew sticker that add 40hp each!

Yes the car was paid off. His parents are commercial real estate agents out here and are loaded. He's already got a new WRX to replace the civic. Since he had the title and signed it over to me, I was able to sell the car.

I just happened to have the title in the glovebox because I had gone to the DMV the day before to take care of issues.

I slowed down because I didn't want to beat him so bad and show what the car really had. I do want to get more races in the future and if word gets out about how fast the car is, I'll have a hard time making any more money.

but most wont believe that i beat an 06 Cobalt LS. at least until i tell them its my girlfriends car, and she wanted to race so we raced, shes not the best driver ever so she just WOT at the start obviously spinning for the first 10 feet, while i kind of "eased" into it for no spin. she caught up to me at the end (no top end speed!!) but i def got her haha. she got up to my rear bumper then we slowed it down. i got out and smiled and she yelled "I ALMOST GOT YOU!!" and i said (from an old fast and the furious line) "it dont matter if you win by an inch or by a mile, winning is winning!" yeah. fun fun. okay thats my story, more believeable than joeblow's haha. hope you enjoyed

it was basically roll from 35 to about 70 or so.
i had him off the jump and he started to catch me at the end, but we both let off around 70 or so.

chargers are slow... i raced a hemi 300c which is all the same as the charger... a 14 flat to 13.5 car and i walked the **** outta him i was in 1st about 20-30mph and put like 4-5 cars on him...

granted my car isnt stock at all but i consider my car slow

Dude the story sounds like something out of a movie. Everyone has talked about the things that are wrong with it, but I cant get over how someone in a honda talking smack would ever loose that bad for one.

For two, when I think about some guy in a honda talking smack on my camaro, racing for pinks then I know for a fact that I would have never let off. U got the heart of a fighter, or why race for pinks right? Well Not to many fighters would let themselfs get beat up first, then hit back. No, a real fighter wants to get the knock out asap, then lol @ the chump that was talking smack while he is down. Nice dream though.

It is a nice story, and I can not say that it is not true, but I do not believe a grown man should influence or justify this kind of behavior, street racing is dangerous, and racing for pinks is just plain redicoulus. I have an 11 second camaro, and would not race a renault with an 80 year old grandmother driving for pinks. My car runs real good down the track 99.9% of the time, but with my luck I would have a blowout half track, or the fuelpump would quit, etc.

I have BS on this too! But I have to say there is no way the NOS worked cause you wouldn't have been taking your foot off the throttle. Just the fact of taking your foot off the throttle cracks me up.
Also you don't have a 10 second car. It is funny that you say you do with a stock 305.

What's funny is your inability to read and comprehend information. I guess in your world you read that I had N20 and was running a 305. What I said is that the civic claimed he had N20 and thought I was running a 305 because of the RS badges and stock look. There is nothing wrong with the paint under the front bumper. The bra was put on on purpose to give the car a dated slow look.

Maybe you should have spent the money on paint and body work rather than getting that fancy fiberglass hood. Once your car is one color then come back and you can talk crap about the bra.

I remember when I started here back in 06. Since I have been back working on my camaro and on these forums I have noticed a big change in the community. Mainly in the new members that have been joining (usually the members on here under 50 posts). I have just been noticing a lot of lies, wrong information or added information that doesnt pertain to the topic. I know we can't have everything, but honestly, the TGO forums are seeming more and more like IMPORT forums I have been in before. Just A LOT of pointless and utterly retarded lies of information being floated around.

TGO is known for some of the best TECH and INFORMATIONAL readings on the internet pertaining to our cars, and just lately I don't read any new threads because they are either pointless or completely retarded like this thread here of someone racing pinks but has absolutely nothing to show for it? Come on, a true TGO member would KNOW we want pictures and video and documentation of the happening. Thats what these forums are for, documented proof, correct analyzations, pictures of every angle, video of every sound. We must know everything to the Tee....and thats TGO and I'd like to keep it that way.

I guess Im just saying I finally understand why Senior members dislike newbies. When I came here in 06 I knew some information, all the newbies I have encountered lately are just dumb.

Now I understand there may be some truth to this story, but thats why we like proof, not here say, because then you get discredited for something that really happened and in the future NOBODY will care what you have to say about our cars and such because of this very hard to determine STORY from back in the day.

Ih8 U hit the nail on the head. I am also a member of Team Camaro, & that site is full of people that know what they are talking about, & are respectfull. Dont get me wrong people here have been great too, but you can tell a huge diff in the way people carry them self's here. LOL. Yeah it's a stock L03, but where I got the biggest boost is when I put the tornado air in the throttle body and installed the leaf blower in the intake track. That probably dropped me into the low 8's in the 1/4.
