Re: Raced For Pinks.....And Won
If you have the bra put it on. I don't know why people are focused in on the bra. It's not like I'm touting it magical speed abilities or anything. It's there to disguise the car and make it look pedestrian and slow....that's it. Some people can never find anything nice to say and just have to nit pick about the stupidest things.
Sure the story sounds unbelievable but you can either choose to believe it or not. I do have a bill of sale for when he turned the car over to me. I'm not going to post it because it would do no good. As soon as I do everyone is going to say it's fake and you just made it up ....blah blah blah.
AGAIN for everyone that missed it before I do not have a stock 305 under the hood.

I do have proof of the rebuilds. Was done in 05 buy the guy that had it before me. I mileage on the car then was 85,9xx. Mileage on it now is 89,3xx. Trans got a shift kit then. Total rebuild cost was $1,210.84....
Motor was from Marshall (remand) with all the regular things replaced at that time also. Hoses, sensors, ect. cost on all that was 1,258.00. I have proof! lol.

I noticed a lot of your threads you started have been answered, maybe thats why nobody responds (like me) anymore. Just seems pointless helping those who won't help themselves by doing a little research.
Read the stickies, a lot of great info is there. Maybe even look up Fast355's 305TBI Build Thread (IIRC he was getting around 430hp)
In this thread you state you don't know anything about the LO3
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tbi/...ii-intake.html
So I think you need to go into the TBI section of the boards and stay in there and read all the stickies, then once read, read them again and take notes. Believe me, reading is well worth it. Especially since you can say YOU KNOW this and YOU KNOW that, instead of I heard or I think.
Take care, hope you find your way.

I am a newbie and yes I input into some threads, mostly body which I KNOW what I am doing. I joined this forum for the tech info and this post caught my eye. I posted about a motor that had a miss in it and got no response. Joeblow posted about racing for pinks and gets 2 pages of replies. Something about this seems wrong. If Joeblow beat this guy and got his civic, great. If he is lying who cares. I used to have a 4th gen ws6 with mods and had some good wins (not on the street). I also have an accord with mods that I use to keep the miles down on my GM vehicles. I wouldn't dare race an f-body in my Honda for anything. Its too slow. Can he beat a civic? Absolutely even with N2O on the si. Did he race him for pinks? Who cares. I didn't loose the car and neither did any of you. As for the bra. Its his car and if he wan't to put a bra on yay for him. Not everyones car in here is everyone else's "Ideal" looking machine. I personally don't like them but maybe his girlfriend does. Maybe she bought it for him for a gift and he is just trying to keep his dignity. I am not defending him or bashing him. I came here looking for tech info for me and to give what I KNOW for sure to others. To give experience to people so they might not make the same mistakes as others. Racing for pinks might be a mistake for some unexperienced stockers. Younger members beware. Don't chance loosing your ride.

apparently you missed my (and joeblow's) sarcasm.
its ok.
i got into the 8s by putting a lot of NOS stickers on my car.
that way the timer pees itself and forgets to count right.

That right there is funny. Can you post up some of your mods that got that car into the 10s. It looks a little street friendly to me, especially the tires.

Re: Raced For Pinks.....And Won
Im going to throw in a lil piece of my opinion this aswell.Though I have been on this site for awhile...I dont post very often. On the subject of this race about being 35 and hanging out at a local Mcdonalds..that I can easily believe and my reason for it is that here In Toronto..doing that is like our local street racers hanging out at every Tim hortons you see.I see older than that ready to run with all types of cars on a friday and saturday night.Age has nothing to do with a passion for cars or racing or none of us would be on this forum section.I might question the part of racing for pinks..that isnt a normal thing to do out of the blue unless you built up a grudge match in your area. The likelyhood of him winning the race with an lsx in a thirdgen against a 09 civic i see easily even with the civic on spray.I raced one myself with my 355 with a 75 shot and pulled a win but it was close ..real close up top.
I do agree that with finding answers on here using the search feature hasnt been very accurate lately and just asking on a new thread yielded me faster results to solve my issues..big or small.Alot of threads do have information thats very useful but reading 100posts before finding the one you needed in a thread is irritating aswell.
Finally Joeblow since your new and getting flamed rather early here i say if you want people to respect that there is any truth to your race.A pic of the hood open proving your lsx would put to rest that the car itself is quick for sure.lsx in thirdgens are highly respected here, theres no need for all the bashing and arguing here if you back up that your running what you claim.Has the car been down the track with that setup..or dynoed..showing numbers would help aswell.

Re: Raced For Pinks.....And Won
Yes sir you are right that I do not know much about a lot of motors. I do try to search for things, but when I do it ends up just being a day of reading things that dont even talk about what i am searching for. My way around it is to just ask. 1.Hey if we didnt have new questions on here, no matter how many times they where asked before then not many people would be posting anything. Then this site might as well be craigs list, ebay, or a place to show off your cars.
Honest working on cars is not my strong point. I started doing it cause i had to. It has turned into something that I like, and in the last 5 years I have spent well over 15k on tools to do so. Not much to some, but a lot to me. When I post I do say well I heard, or I think cause I dont know for sure, & would like to. Thought it was better put that way then leading people to think I do know what i am talking about. Also someone always seems to know for sure, so I say my 2 cents then find out if its right or not. 2.I also never stated that I knew it all. You even brought that point up. I say I dont know, or I heard.
fast 355 has been a lot of help, & is a great guy. 3.What I would like to know is how do you guys now what past threads to copy and paist when responding? Not everything is a sticky right? What am I doing wrong when I search for things? Also something id like to know is how the heck do you post pics in the center of a thread? I would like to document some of the work I do on my camaro's. I will also have a lot of parts for sale soon.

2. I said if you research you can say I KNOW this and I KNOW that. I didnt mean you said that, just if you read a little more you could.
3. Use keywords, also TGO is using a basic search function now which doesn't use every word you type, just common words.
Ex: Instead of typing.
What intake for an LO3 motor
type this
LO3 intake
So that eliminates extra words that are essentially not needed.
I have been on here almost 3 years and what i do is when I find something I will need or find useful I bookmark it to my favorites. Where i have all my pages split up into sections like shown on TGO (Exhaust, Suspension/Chassis etc..)
Organization is key to remembering. At least thats how I feel it helps others, as Im a big OCD in organization (not literally OCD but...habitual)

i'm suprised that picture worked....i've never been good with putting pictures on here.....it looks way better with the aluminum valve covers on it and installed in car...that's an older pic....it's fun...the reason I think I'm getting the power I think is the 60 hrs of porting work on heads/intake/and headers.....

Re: Raced For Pinks.....And Won
1. True, but if you keep asking then people SEARCHING for the right answer have to go through 500 threads (as you have probably had to do, which makes searching for you hard like you state) about what intake filter to use or what exhaust is out there. You see what I mean, yes we would have less posting but a lot more useful information and not so much crowding of the TGO website with the same thing.

Re: Raced For Pinks.....And Won
i'm suprised that picture worked....i've never been good with putting pictures on here.....it looks way better with the aluminum valve covers on it and installed in car...that's an older pic....it's fun...the reason I think I'm getting the power I think is the 60 hrs of porting work on heads/intake/and headers.....

They are cheap flowtech..that have been ceramic coated and the round flange changed to semi round to match headers....but year $99 flowtechs....I've never had a single leak or problem with them....

Re: Raced For Pinks.....And Won
in the thread if u click on them they get bigger. on your computer u can resize by going clicking "start" to "my pictures", double clicking the picture then right click the picture. Go to "edit pictures" then to "resize" Click the "percent of original width x height" take it up however size u want then push the "ok" tab. Then exit out. It will then tell u something like "changes have been made would u like to save"? then click the "save" tab. Then your done.

Re: Raced For Pinks.....And Won
i got one i won off paul walker.
he can buy that one from me if he wants.
i dont have any pics or anything though.
and i won it in a race for pinks on my bike.
its a 10 speed, so i can shift gears a lot and win lots of $$.
i put a bra on my bike to keep the bugs off the paint and to make people think i am slower so i can $$. race.

Re: Raced For Pinks.....And Won
Hey guys. Im the new guy who through the flag. I know im new, and i dontwant to disrespect anybody, but jeez oh man. Thats gotta be one lonely boy with a lot of spare time on his hands to think of something like that. Anyway. I just bought an 87 Z28. Looked over it with a fine tooth comb b4 i bought it. Really clean except it was overheating, nd had a bad rear main in it. Pulled the 350 out of it and stroked it, as well as a bunch of other bolt on's. Whent through the heads, ground them, ported and pollished. Was just about to put it back in, and thought that ide clean up the wiring a bit. Traced them back to under the dash to a big melted blob of copper wire and melted inselation. In ordr to replace the wiring harness i wanted to pull the carpet up, and found out that the floor boards were wacked and packed with bondo, and was all about to fall out. I cant believe this crap! It looks so good from under the car. Even sounds sollid when you knock on it. So needless to say, now its just a bare shell sitting in my garage waiting to be blasted. So much for buying something i didnt want to put that much work into....lol. Sorry guys, just blowing off some steam. Thanks for having me!

Wow... you got a lot of work on your hands.
Here's some encouragement, maybe, at least someone thinks it will be one of the more desirable third gens... eventually: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/hist...-car-look.html
I just read that thread before right before I read your post, that's why I thought about that.
