Forza 3 thirdgen racing night.
I have just purchased, like many of you I'm sure, Forza 3 for 360. It's great especially the camaro's and TA's.
I think we should have a thirdgen racing night. We will each make a car as close to our thirdgen's as we can, maybe tweak them a bit mechanically of course and then have one big race night. Maybe once a month so if someone can do it now they can rent it later on. I'm thinking possibly sat. or sunday evening?

Re: Forza 3 thirdgen racing night.
have you guys tried driving without any nannies ? everything off and manual tranny is the way to drive a thirdgen, and it cant hold traction for **** with anything over 500hp. maybe i need to learn to tune better. I think these cars are perfect C class though.

Re: Forza 3 thirdgen racing night.
I have tried driving it hard with everything off and tried clutch......not smart lol.The torque these cars posses from 0-6000rpm is just a handfull to launch right without spinning too much or just boggin out of the hole.Great C class yes..and good drifters aswell with suspension tuning.

Re: Forza 3 thirdgen racing night.
I also feel the same way. I turn all assists off, and I use manual /no clutch.
It is really rough to make them smooth in the corners, the main idea is smooth on the accelerator or you'll kick it sideways. I also lower the pressure in the tires and soften up the springs, and use it for drifting. It works pretty well. I have been using it for the best in class races and it's doing great. Feel free to check out and download the indy designs from my storefront.

Depending on the angle you take the pic makes it hard to see the grid.In the game the tail lights grid isnt very distinctive as Id like them to be.But Im usually driving in cockpit view

Re: Forza 3 thirdgen racing night.
Wow you can get a serious cowl on that TA. The cowl you get for the camaro's are pretty small especially in comparison. Must be hard to anticipate corners with it covering the half the windshield

So who is making the TGO decal up top of this page? Make it just like that, or I will attempt to do so myself.

I have since updated the looks. Have aerocatch hood pins, Ohiodrifting OD Nade, zodiac Scorpio, and am starting on my full body paint job. Just need the TGO decal.

Yeah I have a PS3 so I guess I'm gonna havta wait until Gran Turismo 5 comes out. They are supposed to have like 10,000 cars available. Here's the complete list: http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforu...t-of-cars.html
I think the complete lists of Camaros and firebirds are impressive though, even though I'll prolly havta buy most of em.

Re: Forza 3 thirdgen racing night.
WOW! I had no idea third gens were in this game. I'll get it for sure. But I'm curiouse, can you just mod out a third gen camaro or T/A to your liking? Are there formulas by any chance?!
Re: Forza 3 thirdgen racing night.
Well, I built my old hotrod in game. See a resemblance?
?

Primary differences: Badges, the badges in the game all say iroc-z tuned port injection, mine said RS. The hood is not right, wheels are wrong, and finally between the fog lights mine said "Camaro" in teal.
Performance wise we built my car accurately in game, saved it, and then went nuts and made it into what it might be today.
I was impressed, a 383 with a cam and exhaust came to about 400 horsepower (My hot rod had 400 when I owned it), then I added my posi, stripped some weight out (I tore the AC as well as un-needed crap out in real life) and upgraded the trans so I could get the gearing right (I wanted 3.42). Came out to a class B, and handled like dog s***. VERY close to how the car felt IRL.
Then we went ahead and added a twin screw super charger, pulled out more wieght, and upgraded the suspension. Came out to a S class car rated at 600 I believe, keeping the 383.
My screen name on live is Loco Hosa, and I love taking this car on speedway challenges against lambos and other exotics. Me and my buddy spent a long time trying to tune it just right, but it still requires very careful throttle control.
I run no assists, but a suggested braking line. Simply because I am not hardcore v.v Manual, but no clutch, that is beyond me still.

Re: Forza 3 thirdgen racing night.
The thing is you only have T/a and Iroc-zs. No formula or RS. This is something I wonder if they might change, just slightly re-skin a few of the cars and add in the base models. I would think it shouldnt be that hard, but I dont see it as being all that likely due to lack of demand.

That is awesome. Now I can mod my car how I want it and all it will cost is an Xbox 360 and this game. Waaaayyyy cheaper than real life. Haha. Probably less fun though. But less speeding tickets....

Come to think of it.... when does Gran Turismo 5 come out and will they have thirdgens? I have a PS3 already so that would be even cheaper.

Can't wait for Gran Turismo 5 either, it's the whole reason I got a PS3. I bought it 6 months ago and it's just collecting dust, gets played once a month, if that. They need to hurry it up.
