I have a friend at work who has a 98 Civic hatch with an integra Type R 1.8L swap. (My mods are in my sig). This will go down this summer but i just wanted your guys input. His car is proven to be a 14.1 sec N/A 4 cyl.(has the timeslip to prove it) I have yet to have my car to the strip to be able to tell. I get all kinds of **** from his buddies who don't beleive that my car can ever begin to compete with his Civic. (Again this will go down this summer at the strip) The only kills i have under my belt on the new motor are a early 90's Kawasaki Ninja 500, 2009 BMW 335i Coupe, Mazda MX6 2.5L 5 spd(murdered), Fox convertable 5 spd(murdered), Newer Mitsubishi Lancer 5 spd (murdered, also had the Evo X wheels on it, not exactly sure what sub-model) and a 2003 Lexus IS300 5 spd.(murdered) Just looking for your guy's input on how you think this race will go. I'm pretty sure i know but i just want to know waht you guys think. O and my car weighed in at 3600lbs with me in it on the scale last year.
Depends on what you have for tires and traction......i feel with what you have you should win

From you mods, id say your car is a mid 13 second car. I dont think you should have any problems taking him.

i would say with good tires you should run a 13.4-13.6. You going to race his honda at the track?

Race him at the track so you have the time slip to prove you beat him but I'd get a torque arm, LCA's with relocation brackets and some sticky rear tires first, otherwise you will be spinning coming out of the hole.
Once the suspension and tires is done, you will kill him. I've seen a 93 hatch with a type r swap and he pulled a 14.5 in the quarter, completely gutted car with carbon fiber hood. Car was super light, are you sure this civic runs a low 14, the older civics are actually heavier and I can't see it being low 14's but maybe, either way you will murder him.

Well i have never ACTUALLY seen this timeslip. Its a full interior car with just the motor swap that i know of. He won't talk to my face, he talks to his good buddies outside of work about me. Supposedly he ran a 14.1 so either way i still think i got the win. My car LOVES a slow roll in first gear. I'm not great at launching but i'll get better once i drive the track a few times. I'll get better.Originally Posted by all4u

I was planning LCA's this spring though. The torque arm has a poly mount and i don't really have too much money to dump into it. I have New Bridgestone potenza's on it right now. 245/50-16.

get an adjustable torque arm and get the LCAs with brackets, I can't stress this enough.
