So I'm not really one to race on the streets, mostly because my car is slow and I don't want to waste the gas. But tonight I was I was on my way home from the Kernal getting some dinner. I pulled out onto Carol which is a three lane road in each direction with a median divider. I take off about half throttle and notice an Eclipse ahead of me (about a mid 2000ish model) and I'm not really even thinking twice about him. As I move past him and get about a half car ahead of him I hear him give it some gas. Now I'm still not even really concerned with him. But then he starts to gas it and let off over and over. So at that point the challenge had been laid out, I knew what had to be done. I'm moving along about 40 when he gets next to me and I punch it, I think I even got pushed back in the seat a few millimeters. I only ran to about 70 and I don't even think I got out of second gear. When I look in the mirror he's about 3 cars back. As I slow down he does the ever predictable r1cer flyby and then turns a few streets later. Now the funny part is my car is just an RS with a catback, open element, and corvette servo, far from a street terror. It recently just rolled over 200,000 with a tired *** greaseball 305 and 2:73 gears. Guess that guy should have sprung for the turbo model.

 

haha, nice man! Those eclipse's look half decent but slow as pie though from what iv heard. I wonder if it would of happened to be an turbo model if you would of even had to be worried about it haha!

 

I hear ya, i raped a Civic last night and they did the ***** flyby every time i whooped them. lol My friend used to have a 95 Eclipse GST Turbo(had exhaust and a 16g turbo) that went 14.9 at the track when i went with him, then i went to the track with one of my other friends and i ran a 13.8 on my first time out this year and somehow his 14.9 sec eclipse turned into a 14.1 car that was quote "not that much slower than my car for having a bigger motor". And he would not prove his 14.1 run. He shut up after i told him the next friday i went i ran a 13.5 @ 108 with 3.23 gears(too low for the xe274 cam), a dieing POSI, and spinning or bogging out of the hole. He sold his car shortly after lol Now he wants an LT1 Camaro. haha

 

turbo eclipses died out after the 2nd gen body style. with the introduction of the 3rd gen cars, they all were N/A.

99' was the last year for the turbo cars

 

i rather have a eagle talon awd turbo...just sounds cool..EAGLE TALON

maybe next winter.....but it will be a pos..just to pass winter with..i wouldnt waste my money on those things at all..rather buy tires for my third gen..lol
