i know a kid from my school who has a all wheel drive 08 lancer with a (according to him) single spool turbo.. he said it has 250hp... i have a 89 iroc rebuilt 350tpi all stock except for a shift kit... from a standstill, who do you think would win?

 

Hope your not a sore loser, no offense but from a dig especially...you dont stand a chance with him being awd.And from a roll isnt where a tpi likes to shine either.if the kid can drive and launches hard then you cant win.If you dont spin and get a good hard launch from a dig..you may be able to put some distance on him and edge out a win...a very close win. yea lancer accelaration is high with all wheel drive..and turbo goodluck

 

if the kid is a driver then he will win. the thing is that you have to be border line abusive to launch them aggressively and they are prone to bogging when they not launched right.

you will need some mods done if he a good driver

 

There were 2 types of turbo lancers in '08, the Ralliart and the Evo. The Ralliart, which I suspect this kid is claiming to have, is rated at 235 HP in '08 last I heard. Go out and take a peak at his car sometime and see if you see a Ralliart emblem on it anywhere. You should be able to run with him in all honesty as they seem to run mid to low 14's from the factory which is completely doable in an L98.

AWD also makes the car a lot heavier. It's most likely a Ralliart, don't know how wealthy your community is but Evo's ain't cheap. It may very well come down to who a better driver. I beat a Porsche 944, but just because the punk-*** kid couldn't drive daddy's car.

 

Don't be afraid of AWD, it just means they put down even less to the wheels!


...just kidding, any turbo AWD car should scare you because they can fully spool and launch.
