so i got a guy in a chevy 4 door i think tahoe with a 383(350 bored) with 305 rods wanting to race me and my cousin. i am puttin a stock 350 with edelbrock carb and intake and a 5 speed manual trans, and my cousin has a 96? dodge ram 1500 with a 5.2 liter 318 in it. whats ya'll thoughts on a winner or outcome of this race?

more info on my car 1991 Firebird Formula, straight pipes, ttop,tinted windows, custom windshield banner, corvette rally rims, T5 manual 5-speed transmission, soon to be a 5.7L 350, Edelbrock 650 cfm carb., Edelbrock performer intake, Edelbrock air cleaner.

 

Well, that Custom Window Banner I hear adds roughly 15 HP. SO I think you will take it.

In all seriousness, I don't know why your buddy with the Tahoe would 383 it, but it sounds like BS to me, and I think you should be able to take them both.

 

i'd say the banner adds at least 20 HP man. haha

and he says its a 383 with 305 rods. he's a complete *******. and he's sayin he'd take my cousins ram and i said ill race them both for fun at the same time. so i was gonna race with them. i was expecting to win and the dodge come in 2nd. But yeah its a 4 door chevy suv thinkkg i assume is a tahoe and he claims its a 383 with 305 rods

 

I recently raced a buddy with a 2001 Ram 1500 with the 360 in it and he said it was pulling 400+ hp at the flywheel. He has an intake, a chip, and some other goodies. So we finally race from a 40 roll up to about 75 and I had a good 2-3 trucks on him. I have the stock 350 that puts out 225 hp at the fly. SO my point is you should win easily because weight makes a difference like in the example I listed above.
