Re: thirdgen vs 05 stang
You said 14.7 TO 14.9 AFTER whitedevilTA mentioned something.

This is your complete original post.

Quote: well then your pretty foolish I have the 155k 305 block in my garage
it is a 3.736 bore 305 I have the time slip from the 305 at Lebanon Valley Speedway NY
raced 5 GT's they all ran 14.7 I ran 14.3

read I did say CAT back 3:73 30# inj 58 TB fiber hood <> 1/10th
PS most importantly I tune <<<<<

now are you going to tell me my HSR Conversion from my avatar does not eat LS1's to
No need to change stories now. You said they all ran 14.7, now you're changing the situation around to make it seem more believable.

Me and ninetyone pretty much met through arguing on here, then started talking on a friendly basis. This all started I believe in September, when I mentioned that I was buying a Mustang soon (Bought it in November) and if he wanted to see how his 'Bird would stand up to one.

If you want to do the same, you're more than welcome. You mentioned that your HSR 350 eats LS1s, well you can venture down to Delaware, see how your car does against ninetyone's bolt on L98, then go against something that happens to be a little quicker. My Mustang. If you can't at least beat ninetyone's bolt on L98, I wouldn't waste the gas, because his Bird is quick to begin with.

A supercharged 3.8 Grand Prix decided they wanted in last night, saw that we were doing some roll races, and passed me at an estimated 70-80 MPH, since I think I was doing 50 something. Ninetyone saw that Grand Prix coming, got on it, and I don't think it even passed him.

Heres one BONE STOCK with good tires running a 13.91. I'm sure I could find more if I searched a little harder. Not all GT's run 14.7. That is on the slow side man. Not trying to argue with you, just plain saying they are not all that slow.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qc0YNZAh0hs

Granted a 13.91 is very fast for a stock one but most average a low 14. Tell me how a car with 260 HP and about the same weight runs slower than a 245 HP third gen?

Oh really? Well a friend of mine ran a 12.7 at the very track you run at with a bone stock LS1.....just has good tires and an airlid on it. You need to do your homework man. Just stop now before it gets too bad.

Re: thirdgen vs 05 stang
Looked like the STi pretty much didn't even try to race. The 0-110 video, pulls hard, but 110 from a slow roll in like 12 seconds isn't really special. That's why roll racing is a whole lot easier, you're eliminating the launch.

In the end, videos, talking about what can do what, don't really mean much. It's what can be done in the here and now. The only way to figure that out would be to line up both cars, either at the drag strip, or from a roll.

I'd be at the drag strip myself if I had use of 2nd gear.

I've noticed that they'll never listen to that advice, just keep up with the BS stories.

I really don't even know what to say. Me and ninetyone lined up our cars on the highway, his a bolt on L98, mine a pretty much stock 2001 GT 5 speed, with an exhaust, CAI, gears, and a good driver.

Every single other thing is stock, unless someone wants to count a shifter as a mod that enhances power. Stock throttle body, stock intake manifold, stock cams, stock heads, I don't even have headers, I have stock manifolds. And on top of that, I have big 18" FR500 wheels that weigh I believe 32 pounds each. That's 28 more pounds of rotating mass than something like a stock set of IROC wheels.

So what you're implying now is, that whitedevilTA's video of his friend's LS1 running a 12.7 is made up, or that me, and another member on here, ninetyone, didn't race? We all just made it up, pulled it out of our hats?

Get real. Some people actually get out there and run their cars. Not just fool around with a Subaru who doesn't know anyone's racing, and talk smack on a forum about what can beat what.

You really do just need to stop.

I bought my Mustang in late November, on November 17th. I destroyed my 2nd gear synchro I think it was in early January, I don't know. I haven't even had a chance to take it to the strip.

You were asked what your car runs by I think whitedevilTA. So, if you want to be a big man, and talk about slips, where is your's at?

By the way, just so you know the situation here, there are a couple different people.

I, Shadow Z, am the guy who roll raced ninetyone's bolt on L98 Firebird last night, with my Mustang.

WhitedevilTA is the other person who is involved in this thread. He is the one who posted a video of his friend's LS1 running a 12.7.

I will agree 12.7 is not your average run out of an LS1 but my freind is a hell of a driver and they are CAPABLE of that which means technically they can all run about that with a damn good driver. Just like a new edge GT is a low 14 average car but very CAPABLE of better times. Cars run what the driver is capable of. Saying they all run "14.7" or whatever you think is just not the case.

Uh, I can blurt out a trap speed too.

60'? 1/8th E.T. and MPH? 1/4 E.T. and MPH? Elevation? Missing a few things there. I don't have a scanner myself so I won't imply you do, but I imagine you could take some time out of your day to run to a library and upload this time slip.

That was my reaction too.

This whole thing is just stupid.

It went from my 3.73 geared, CAI, exhaust, and driver mod 5 speed 2001 GT putting a couple lengths on a bolt on automatic L98 last night, to pretending that a 305 would stand a chance against me, to a HSR T/A taking off when a Subaru was just driving, to arguing about make believe times that are ridiculously consistent from car to car.

Listen to whitedevilTA and do your homework. Oh, and I do go, a lot. Too much, perhaps. The Mustang has ran through $70 worth of gas in the last 2 days, since I have a lead foot, and love to bang some gears.

12.9 @ 113 is terrible. 113 is a low low 12 second pass. Not sure why you had to start in 2nd. My junk 235's didn't hook for crap on my old 2008 mustang but I still launched in 1st and managed a 2.0 60 ft.

They are not slicks, they are standard 275 nitto drag radials which are the least sticky of the 3 popular ones.

no dah 12.9 @ 113 is terrible I just told yah what I ran against the guy pulled a 1.592 60' 11.812 @ 111.07
my 2nd gear 2K was a 2.221 60'

drag radials is still like slicks especially on a track

High humidity 3:73 5sp stock 245's .570 lift 1206 intake heads matched 1206 HSR = no hook up without slicks is your answer

I sure hope they did not run 14.7-14.9 at ATCO unless they were automatics! That's what they run here at 3000' with light work and DRs done,5 spd GTs run low 14s on avg. with similar mods tune, DRs and gears 13.7-13.9.........

I have vids of my mild bolt on L98 running against a friends full bolt on 4.6L GT, think it was an 02. I was in the 13.5's at the time and he was 13.3's. I''ll have to find it. Got me everytime. Eventually a few more bolt ons and it good air I was able to go 12.9's and i think the best he got was 13.0-13.1's in good air.

A G92 305 5-spd car with some bolt ons may take a stock GT but bolt ons GT will destroy the 305.

How did you manage mid 13's with a bolt on L98? What do you mean by bolt-ons? Are you still talking the stock block, heads ,cam and intake here?

SLP 2600 stall
SLP runners ported
SLP 1-3/4 headers
Flowmaster cat back
Air bag in right rear 18psi
Performance Resource chip
Aluminum driveshaft
Comp ta 245/50/16 24psi
13.37@104 1.87 60'
'88 iroc 5.7,5spd conversion,3.27 gear
Same mods
Hooked shorties

13.1@107 1.9 60'
I added 1.6 rockers and used M&H racemasters and ran the best of 12.7@111 1.7 60'
which eventually cost me alot in T5 repairs and replacements but hey it was 1992 and there was a limited supply of aftermarket support. I ran this car until 1999 where it got totaled NOT MY FAULT!

ninetyone- What world do you live that a bolt on L98 can't run mid 13s or faster? I personaly witnessed a factory stock L98 running 14.2s at my local track years ago. And it still had the factory exhaust and cheap paper filters. Whats next? You going to say you don't believe LS1s run 12s with bolt ons? Come on.
