try the "equasions" forum, you probly have 2.73 gears , and you need the radius of the rear wheels. the transmission gear ratios are listed in the tables and you shouldn't wind too much above 5500rpm.

If you havent messed with the limiter...then its 108-112MPH (Computer Limited). With it removed I would *guess* about 130

Okay two questions:
1. What would i enter for Transmission Gear Ratio for my Automatic 700r4 ?
2. The limiter is the GOVERNOR right? How do i tweak that?

the computer will do the math for you, .7 is the overdrive ratio for the 700r4.

If our cars have a speed limiter how come I can get mine up to 140+ in 4th gear?(92 TBI 5.0 5-speed) Did some come without the limiter?. And 92heritageZ just because the calulator says you can go 170@5000 RPM does not mean you have enough horsepower to do it.

get a ruler out and measure the RADIUS of a rear wheel (tread to rim's center). double check your gear ratio. I have 3.73s so I only go 108 tops, which doesn't bother me because I have no need to go faster than 108mph! with 2.77s which I had temporarilly,it didn't want to wind up more than 4000rpms in OD, ofcourse I was doing much better than 108mph by then!!
put : your redline rpm, your car should be able to redline in OD. radius of rear wheels and OD ratio: .7,and gear ratio

Somebody PLEASE help me with this one...

After destroying my 5th gear putting a clutch in wrong, the shop put a big 5th in...with my 2.73s, it equals...

2000 RPMS = 80 MPH

My question:

If I put in 3.27s or 3.42s or whatever those numbers are, what respective RPMs would 80 MPH be for each? Thanks a lot...

South Side Machine subframe connectors

When your buddy reaches for a 10-pound sledge and says "I think we're gonna have to modify the floor pan, okay?" the answer is NO.
