Could I win a race against....

OK i just bought this 89 trans AM GTA . And now all my friends want to race, I figure i can beat all of them but i had a question on one. I think i can win win but just to ask your opinions.

He has a Stock 94 3000GT V6 not the twin turbi

mine has Engine stroked to 383ci, World Products heads, Keith Black pistons, GM 5.7 rods, Mellins Hi-Volume oil pump, 9:1 compression, 24# Ford Fuel Injectors, Edelbrock TES Headers with special coating, hi-flow Catalytic Conv.

I dont know what half that stuff means. anyawy. Its a V8 5.6 L 383.

What you guys think as I am new to this whole "fast car" scene.

Nate

Welcome aboard,

First your engine is not a 5.6L. A stock 350 is 5.7 so a 383 has to be 6.0 at least (not sure of the exact metric measurement) Second you will kill your friend in the 3000GT. Youre putting out at the very least 300HP likely significantly more when the most powerful NA (Naturall aspirated - as in no poweradders) 3000GT was 222HP as far as I can remember.

Race and have fune, oh how I wish I had an 89 GTA with a 383

What gears do you have in the car. Are you using the stock TC. These are important to determine what you'll be running. But you'll have no problem with the 3000gt.
