Well, I've beat my share of EX civics from all years. All of them modded. Mustuv had 2 car from the beggining and after that i just slowly pulled away. So, if you dont beat em from the start, you'll have trouble.

Ok, most of M/T's 1/4 mile times are pure BS....but I think around 17.3 - 17.5 is about right for a 3.1 A4 camaro. M/T posted like 16.8 for a 96-up civic ex 5 speed. A friend of mine bought a new 97' ex when we graduated high school. It had an intake and 2" drop springs, 17.00's were the norm. On a more humorous note, I took his muffler off one night and it ran 16.80's. Look at it this way - you have a 3300 lb car roughly w/ 145 HP, and a 98 ex is what? Like 2700 - 2800 lbs, w/ 127 HP + the exhaust. Power to weight ratio is in his favor.

It's a drivers race. An automatic EX or one with subs and 17"s are going to run 17s. Bone stock I ran 15.8s, now im running 15.1-15.3 NA with my car. If the guy makes even the SLIGHTEST mistake racing you, the race is yours.
